Anyone annoyed with Daniel Jacobs Interview?

So the fight was entertaining. Jacobs looked good, Mora looked really good to. Mora dropped Jacobs. And then Jacobs wins via Mora injury.

Post fight interview Jacobs mentions he's the world champ, he's the A side so he calls the shots. Despite GGG being full champ :DD . And he disrespects Mora and says no rematch.

Why no rematch next year?

I agree with this article.
The first round in this bout was a contender for round of the year. Jacobs dropped Mora badly and then he got reckless and Mora dropped Jacobs at the end of the round with a nice left hook. There was some serious intensity and work rate in this bout which many fans didn't expect. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the early action. In round 2 Jacobs dropped Mora with a hard right hand. As Mora's body was falling to the canvas, his ankle or knee gave way and Mora said a large break could be heard. Mora got up and tried to walk but he could barely put any weight on one side and he had to retire.

Danny Jacob’s who is the World WBA Middleweight champion, is actually an interim champion with GGG holding the full WBA Middleweight belt. Despite being the interim champion he said 'I'm the champ and I call the shots', Jacobs also said he's not giving 'Mora' a rematch, which was quite poor.

Both Jacobs and Mora looked good while it lasted. If Jacobs gets a few spare months next year in his schedule, I can't see why he shouldn't give Mora a rematch. Mora did drop him heavily in the first round.

Hopefully Mora heals up quickly. Just wish this fight lasted longer as both turned up to fight and it could have turned into a classic.

Dropped by Mora ? That's what champs do -- getting dropped by feather-fisted fighters ??? Jacobs does not belong to the MW elite. He knows that which is why he is not challenging them.

Seems like DJ has a soft chin, and might be why he's been matched carefully since being KTFO'd by Pirog. I still think him vs Quillin would be a good match-up, and certainly much better than him vs Mora/Truax/Fletcher.

I dont blame him for not wanting a rematch. I'm sure he wants bigger paydays because as he said, promotion-wise...he is the A side.
Though I agree he came off as an A-hole. very dismissive of Sergio for having just been knocked on his ass by him.
Never liked Jacobs. just like Teddy says, he got KOed in his first real step up. Hope Quillin takes him out.

You get knocked on your ass and made chicken legged by Sergio Mora, there's no way on God's green earth you gonna stay conscious facing the Quillens and GGGs of the world.

I wasn't annoyed.

It is exactly what someone would say to avoid making the same mistake.

No need to put the "Cannon Fodder for Quillen or GGG" payday in jeopardy again.

Sergio Mora is a prick so I don't have any problems with Jacobs comments.

Jacobs-Quillin is a coin flip. But from what I've seen of Quillin lately I'd lean Jacobs. Jacobs would get knocked out by GGG surely and I think he'd lose to Lemiuex as well but that would be a great fight.

Jacobs-Quillin would be a good match-up and far better than any of Jacobs' fights since Pirog. Quillin didn't look good against Lee, though it was still a close fight against a good fighter, but I'm not sure that Jacobs can survive calamitous moments like Lee can. Quillin seems the much sturdier of the two and I lean towards him eventually hurting Jacobs and either stopping him or taking over from that point.

Is Mora the best opponent that Jacobs has beaten? Danny has sure been matched carefully since Pirog flattened him.

Jacobs is super talented but he still hasn't beaten anyone worth a damn. And that's reality. Fortunately for him 160 isn't very good after GGG. And maybe Lemiuex. Very shallow division in terms of true quality. Quillin seems to shell up once you hit him hard a couple times. His lack of aggression against Lee was very concerning. He looked terrible in that fight. Scared. Timid.

Quillin and Jacobs both need to stay the hell away from GGG. He will hurt them both.

Going life and death with Mora is not a good sign for Jacobs.
A lot of decent punchers at middleweight, I'd favour Quillin, Lee, Lemieux and obviously GGG to KO him.
I imagine he will continue to defend his 'title' against mediocre opposition until a big payday gets offered (no doubt against one of the fighters listed) and he gets sparked.

Jacobs is a decent fighter, he should outbox Quillin. But his punch resistance is not there, he is too chinny. GGG, Lemieux, Lee, even Cotto will destroy him. Quillin should do the same but he is too cautious and may let Jacobs off the hook when he hurts him.

Why would Jacobs rematch Mora? We all know the only reason he got caught is because he was extremely careless looking for the KO and came in hands down. Other than that, he showed he was the much more dominate fighter. A rematch would be a waste of time.

The point is, he didn't really beat Mora. Mora was injured after being pushed. With that kind of chin, no way Jacobs goes more than five rounds against Quillin.

I was a bit harsh with Jacobs last night. The kid has been through a lot and has rebuilt his career against significant odds. I think that he is a walking ktfo man at the top level, but he is skilled and he has heart.

It's obvious Jacobs was gonna win. He was hitting Mora with hard shots more and more, buckling his legs many times. He got caught coming in carelessly but wasn't hurt. It's clear he was going to win the fight. I am not convinced Mora broke or tore anything. He fell awkwardly and at least sprained an ankle or knee but I want to know if he was indeed badly hurt or whether he was just trying to cop a no contest (as he was saying he thought would be the ruling) and get another payday.
