Floyd's relationship with Berto

What's the deal with Floyd and Berto? Are they close friends?
I first heard of Berto years ago through Floyd (i think Floyd plugged him on tv or in a tweet).
Berto has also been lined up for the pay day twice before, but blew it by losing to Ortiz then Guerrero.
Now he's simply getting the payday without having to earn it, on the basis he is completely shot and would have zero chance of beating a legit WW contender like Brook of Bradley.
So what's the deal, is it another Haymon stitch-up? Does Floyd owe a favour to Berto? Something stinks.

They are lovers, and best friends.

There was a time years ago before Berto became champ that i thought he just might be the next star of boxing but after the Ortiz fight and the drugs bust that seems a distant memory
I wonder why such a anti drug figurehead like Mayweather would give Andre a shot

From what I have read there is bad blood between the two....something to do with Floyd's ex and prank calls after. Maybe Floyd plans to punish him, and let his hands go for his last fight? Berto was in line a few years back when he was undefeated and was a champ for about 2 yrs. People then of course thought Floyd was avoiding him, like he always gets accused of. (probably still afraid to fight Manny too)
Berto has an identical record to Khan, and other than the stoppage (questionable) vs Karass, never been KO'd. He poses more danger than Khan to Floyd, but on paper at least isn't much of a threat. I think if Khan didn't go life and death with Algieri and kept his mouth shut, he would be the guy.

C'mon don't use Khan's name to justify this. There are better WW and LMW than Khan.

I would never justify Khan or Berto as the best opponent for Floyd. I have said before I would prefer Brook, Bradley, or Thurman.

I do wish people would stop calling this his last fight - it should be patently obvious he will go for 50-0 after wrangling huge sums of money out of everyone.

No different than Salka getting a buddy fight to give a friend a major payday
Floyd isn't the first to do it and he won't be the last
Santa Cruz just hooked up his sparring partner friend, Chris Byrd and others did it in the past.

Floyd will fight on past this next one. He might take a short break, but he'll be fighting again.
Bet on it. I would/will if the opportunity presents itself.

Khan poses a far greater risk than Berto, and does double the PPV numbers.
Floyds determination to give Berto the fight stinks. Maybe the fix is in?

i think it indeed could be floyd's last performance. he
is a very intelligent man and knows that the buildup to
manny was his career's pinnacle in terms of popularity
and income. there is no topping this.
he knows that he has an expiration date and the longer
he waits the greater the dangers. dangerous fighters
come up and he will be forced to face them if he sticks
around. in a certain way manny was the end of floyd's
career.

I'd happily lay money at the bookies on the fact he will fight on if he wins against Berto.
Why would he get to 49-0 and stop there?
He can pretty much hand pick his opposition anyway, so there's no danger of him being forced to fight anyone he doesn't want to.

What fix are you referring to??
What makes you so sure that Khan is a greater risk?? Can Khan hit harder than Berto? We saw Amir running from a featherfisted overblown LW, when have we ever seen Berto run from anyone?? Khan has a worse chin than Berto, how does that along with his lack of punching power make him more of a risk??
I know you hate Floyd but even you have to look at your own stupidity in the things you said above, wow.

Like i said last week, the best aspect of this matchup is watching Floyd groupies try to big up Berto

At the presser, Floyd was talking up Berto more than Berto was talking up Berto.
Floyd's such a douche.

It's the give away for a cherry pick. Well matched fighters talk trash. Mismatched fighters talk up their opponent to try to salvage credibility.

They're friends. This is him helping out a friend with a payday when his career is on the down slide.

Judging by the oddsmakers spread they don't expect Mayweather to take any punishment. So yeah it makes sense Mayweather will fight on.

How so? By running from a blown up LW? By having a superior chin? By talking sh*t about many fighters but not getting in the ring with them? If Khan is so great then tell him to stop ducking Brook.
Khan is a pathetic chickensh*t turd.

Sure it isn't, not one person likes Khan and believes he's any good except you.
