I know this is not boxing related but I really dont know where else to post so i can get a proper answer.

I made my research for UFC PPV and I really cant believe this, if the Cotto vs Canelo fight happens this year we will have just 3 major boxing PPVs on HBO & Showtime.

While UFC has made NINE PPVs all of them with combined Buys of 4,875,000 million.. ( Source Here )

Really? THAT many PPV buys for UFC events? And how can people accept so many PPV events and still buy them in JUST A YEAR.

The only Logical explanation is the PPV value being under 30$.. but I didint find any confirmation on that.

Rousey vs uknown Correia did 900K Buys.. how the F#ck really? While Mayweather did the same number with Maidana. Someone give me a proper answer please.

Better study would be to see where all the UFC money goes. Huge gates. Huge earnings. Minimal payments to fighters.

Also $100K advance for advertisers to UFC, just to advertise on a licenced fighter. Then they have to pay the fighter extra.

I am asking how do they make so huge PPV sales with Mismatches and NINE PPVs already this year, im not asking where the money goes.

Hopefully boxing will have NO MORE PPV's. It's the worst thing to have ever happened to the sport besides the multiple ABC's. Eff them all.

You are misinformed then. They make the money because it's a great product, which, unlike boxing, pits the best against the best consistently.

Would be great if all televised boxing could viewed on free tv, cable and premium channels.

I dont believe when ufc says they did 900k. most people go out to the bars to watch the fights, i just cant see how on earth it would be 900 k. Considering ufc isnt quite as popular as it was say back in 2010.


but i do like the free boxing pbc has been putting up, it is exciting to watch. just want more meaningful matches

UFC is like the Barnum and Bailey circus.They can hype any fight to make it look like
it is matching the best at any given time.
Smoke and mirrors.That is what I think of their match making.

Take Floyd vs Pac out of the picture and watch boxing PPVs at 2014. None did more than 1 Million and UFC manages to do so many buys yet they pay their fighters 50k??? Something is fishy here.

People are not dumb.. they can hype fights all they want but people wont continue to buy into all that bs. Some will for sure but imagine something like this happening to boxing? 9 PPVs? It would be the end of our sport. These PPV Buys are 10000% fake

Who should Rousey fight?

Both of those women were undefeated when Ronda faced them. She is just a dominate champion. Is this the only attempt of an example that you have? The UFC is consistently having the best fight the best. If you don't see this, you don't follow the sport.

How can the US people KEEP paying these PPVs thats what I dont understand, we have 3 major PPVs this year and in all boxing sites they are uploading humorous pics of people crying over "Losing all their money" from those PPVs..

WHILE IN UFC THEY KEEP MAKING event after event PPVS!!!!! they had 14 PPVs last year.. this is Ridiculus and beyond belief.

There's NO WAY the Rousey PPV did 900K buys. No possible way. I'm a boxing fan first and foremost but do love watching the UFC and follow it pretty closely and that Rousey card was piss poor. Every single bout was garbage.

Now I do believe that the McGregor/Mendes card did 825k because that card was jacked with great bouts. Not sure if anyone here bought that PPV event but if you did, you were treated to great fight after great fight. Well worth the money. But no way, Rousey's card did that much. No possible way.

If it did so such great numbers, the question is how many will return?

I don't know exactly. I passed on buying it because the undercard was really horrible at first and second glance. None of my die hard UFC buddies even bought it and that says a lot because they don't miss a card. I just find it really hard to believe that it got 900k buys. NO way.

They are trying to turn Ronda in to a massive star (and doing a very good job of it). It wouldn't surprise me at all if the UFC brass bought PPV's to inflate the numbers. Heck, Dana already admitted to buying press time.
