I don't see why not. Asperger's is a higher-functioning form of autism, and it doesn't bar surgeons from operating (for one notable example). The actor Paddy Considine was diagnosed with it.

In terms of his behaviour, we're talking about a sport with a rich history of dirty tactics and flying chairs. Everyone without a criminal record should get the benefit of the doubt until they show behaviour to the contrary. From his point of view, he really needs to be ready for the disappointment of losing. Aspies tend to be very intense, which is great for focus and boxing ability - like you say, but he needs to be absolutely sure he'll cope if his best efforts fall a bit short.

Many people are on the Aspergers spectrum but are diagnosed, if they are it could prohibited him from boxing, but I don't know for sure.

2 boys in my club who have aspergers have boxed Amateur one from 17 years old the other 22 years old

It's on the spectrum of Autism - it's not a 'mild form' - Aspergers is a term which is not really widely used in the medical profession any more, they just call it Autism.

Aspergers varies a lot from individual to individual. There's some many combinations of behaviours. My best mate's son is Autistic, in fact two of my best mates as it happens, so I've learnt a lot about the condition.

I'd imagine there are some boxers currently active who have aspergers and who are completely undiagnosed - the element of routine in boxing would definitely appeal to many people with autism as that is one of the most predominant traits - an obsession with routines.

Don't see why he shouldn't be great in the ring. Out of the ring is another story.

Yes, quite possibly would be one of the few places they function normally.
