Josh Taylor is fighting Hungarian Champ Adam Mate on the same bill. Decent opponent for only his second fight.

Great fight for Ronnie, ive seen Cacace once or twice when he's been in on TV and he's a tidy boxer from what i remember, its time to step up for Ronnie now, easier said than done of course but after pushing Walsh,James and Evans all the way i'd love to see him come away with the W finally and get a British or Commonwealth title shot

Mate people have no idea, he gave all them hard fights training twice a week, there is nobody for him in dundee to train with and financially he couldn't afford to train in Aberdeen so he would spar and maybe pads twice a week, he went to Birmingham and stayed in his car and sparred for a week , unless he stays away he trains himself, he doesn't have luxury it's the hard way but for this fight it looks like he will be going away, Hopefully a sponsor will get him a proper camp, full training with no distractions, the boy loves fighting and believe me he's a tough guy, his life is fighting , he does not drink, just trains and spars with guys right up to light heavy, he can take a shot and give one and won't take a back step, I'm buzzing for it and he deserves a break, I wish more fighters had the attitude of fight anyone,

Been wanting this fight for years their styles match up well glad its for a title as they both deserve it. Ronnie has fought anyone and been unlucky in his losses and draws. Another great fight he is in just an hour away cacacae will be the home fighter in Scotland. Should be a big support making the trip from Dundee. Totally buzzing

Wow mate never knew he trained himself always thought he trained with a trainer. I knew he was in Aberdeen working with Davy but thought that was on a full time basis. Hopefully he can get some sponsorship sorted so he can enjoy a full camp undisturbed & take advantage of a fight on home soil. Maybe not Dundee but not far along the road

Mate he's never had a full camp, financial reasons dundee isn't exactly supportive city, Evans Fight was like 2 weeks notice, Walsh a week and maxi Hughes a few days notice, Troy james he don't a lot of work with john reilly who comments on here who is a god send for him, does pads etc but Ronnie really has to scavenge for sparring, people really would be shocked at the insides of what goes on without all the money backers , tue hype trains and realise a true fighter who can't make money due to being neither a prospect or a journeyman, all risk no reward but he would fight anyone, and anyone knows him he gets a full camp with proper sparring he will beat these boys, we are pushing for it for this one cause quite frankly he deserves it, I have banter on here and that but if there are more guys who dedicate themselfs the same as him I take my hat off to them cause that kinda lifestyle cannot be easy:)

I know how dedicated Ronnie is & how tough he has had it, I never realised until he came down to me for a few days, he really is willing to rough it and do what it takes to try and get the best training & sparring for himself, Its unbelievable he's got has far as he has without ever having a proper training camp & sparring, I think the only time he's got close to that was preparing for the Troy fight, it's a shame that I'm so far away other wise I'd love to train Ronnie for this fight and give him a proper camp as I believe he can beat Cacace. I wish him all the best, he's a great lad & we down here have a awful lot of time for him. Good luck Ronnie

Cacaces record looks good but he's fought only a couple of guys with a winning record.
It's a big step up for him taking on Clark.

Agreed mate nobody, unless involved knows exactly how much work a fighter puts in on preparation for a fight. Must be hard for Ronnie, surely Dundee must have some local businesses who could do some sponsorship and try make camps a little easier for Ronnie. Local media, local businesses usually try and assist local sports people bringing attention & coverage to the city. Ronnie seems are very dedicated fighter & im sure with his commitment & persistence he will get a break & I wish him all the best in next fight.

It's a disgrace in a city like dundee a guy like ronnie is struggling to get sponsorship financial backing from businesses etc,and must be very disheartening, but he struggles on and with his dedication I believe hel get there albeit the hard way,I've only had my pro cornermans and trainers licence a couple of years and am very much at the learning stage just now, taking in bits here and there,I'm always gonna be here to help ronnie as much as I possibly can,but I know I'm still an amateur coach and ronnie needs someone with a lot more experience who can get him top quality sparring and a training camp,it's such a shame he's the first guy to help other boxers get ready for their bouts even travelling to their back yards when they should be coming to dundee, but when he needs a bit help etc with his upcoming bouts, they don't want to know

Yea I bet it's very frustrating for Ronnie & his team... Who is he signed with now?

His manager is Tommy film out, to be fair Iv always been critical of Tommy but lately I think he's been trying harder, was brand new on Thursday when we seen him, it's training that doesn't work out, many promises made but when the dust settles very few are actually kept regarding sponsorship and that, I imagine it's the same for most boxers though, he Just wants a fair crack at it, he will fight anyone, takes every decision on the chin, maxi Hughes and Ryan Walsh fights he accepted, away from home and he felt he should have stopped them and under performed, Troy james he started to late and learnt a lot and Craig Evans he just laughs and says the referee summed the fight up, need a knock out to win, boxing is a tough sport, but it's a tougher business

Tommy is a good manager & will create opportunities for fighters. I'm surprised he don't have business contacts in Dundee area with all the contacts he has. Have you tried the car garages? They normally always work with fighters & I know Clinton had a car supplied when he was with Tommy, John Simpson, Ricky Burns & various other fighters have or do have sponsorship from car dealers.

Like everything it's hard to get people to part with money unless they are proper boxing fans! Dundee is also a hard place for sponsorship and anyone who knows Ronnie will tell you he doesn't like to ask people for help and would rather do something for nothing just to help them out.
Managed to get him a wee sponsor yesterday that will help him get his licence and medicals sorted out so that is one less thing for Ronnie to worry about in the build up. I've got to speak with a couple of other guys this week that have shown interest in some kind of sponsorship so we can see what happens there.

Looking forward to this one. Cacace has the prettier record but make no mistake Clark has the better record and been involved in a lot of good learning fights which will give him the nod in terms of experience. Cacace has had a weird last couple of years jumping from trainer to trainer and promotional/managerial deal to promotional/managerial deal and he’s not really any further on with his career than he was when he made his debut. In fact I’d fancy Ben Wager, who Cacace blasted out in a round on his debut (some say it was a premature stoppage but not I), to beat everyone Cacace has faced since. So we haven’t seen the progression we would have liked to see.
It’s a big step up for him. Maybe too steep a step up for my liking actually, would have preferred a medium level test first. However, the three-legged West Belfast banger carries a big shovel in his paws which he’s not always had the chance to show against some of the ‘tuck up’ merchants he’s faced. Clark is tall for the weight but Cacace is a freaky Corrales type shape at Super feather and if he can use his range and dictate the pace of the fight I can see him frustrating Clark and catching the Scot with a big shot as he comes in. Now that Cacace is away from (the ‘distractions’ and comforts of) Belfast and surrounded by a very switched on and professional atmosphere I’m sure that’ll have done him the world of good. As much promise as Cacace has, we, outside of his team, still don’t know how good he can be or haven’t seen it. This will really test him and I rate Clark. I wouldn’t be shocked at any result – points or stoppage win to either – as they are both very capable but I fancy Cacace to hand Clark the first stoppage loss of his career – late on. Would have liked to see it in Belfast but Cacace aint a massive ticket seller and I assume Josh Taylor will do so hey-ho! Evenly match and a good fight. Cant wait for that one, hope its on TV as Edinburgh is a long way to go.

Very good read slap bang wallop, and nice to have opinions, from what Iv seen I'm struggling to see where this power stuff comes from, seen him fight and didn't look like he had it, Al hamidi was in fight against him and gave him problems, obviously I am biased but anyone who has seen Ronnie knows he can take a shot, Troy James s big puncher and bigger than anto for me and Ronnie would have took his shots all night, he spars with middleweights a lot and has never been put down in sparring or a fight in his life, Ronnie is an awkward fighter but switches off, if he does what he can and just fights his own fight I really think the angles will cause problems, his chin allows him to just throw from wild angles, no disrespect to anto as he's got a very good pedigree but I don't think he's better than Ryan Walsh, Craig Evans or Troy James and put him on par with maxi Hughes as Ronald's opponents .
