Three Middleweight World titles IBF IBO WBA at stake here on October 17th on Alledgedly channel. Both are heavy handed KO specialists so there should be fireworks. Although I have GGG winning by KO I wouldn't rule out Lemieux. Its a pretty even fight as far as I am concerned and it could IMO go either way. Lemieux has two losses on his record, one by KO but he hasn't lost since 2012 when he had two losses on the trot. This is a hard challenge for unbeaten Golovkin and could prove to be his toughest yet.

Lemieux may be able to land a few good shots but Golovkin just a level above him as a boxer, should be a convincing stoppage win.

You have to expect that Lemieux will fold as soon as GGG starts landing, but the great unknown is what will happen if Lemieux is throwing and happens to land a bomb on GGGs chin. No chin is undentable, and GGG is not difficult to land on. How hard does Lemieux hit? I would say very given his KO record but how many of these guys that he stopped showed significant durability in the past? I think GGG is on another planet in terms of ability and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win by KO in round one if he is first to land and back his man up, but surely GGG is smart enough to know that he can't just walk into Lemieux taking shots the way he did against other opponents. I think we could see a more careful GGG at least for the first couple of rounds than we've seen recently and that may mean Lemieux is the one coming forward throwing with bad intentions. A fun fight for as long as it lasts.

Lemieux is one of those well matched poster boys (like a Roman Greenberg type) who is going to get well beat whenever he steps up.

Yes mate, i'm a big fan; best combination puncher and technician in the sport imo.

Really can't wait, taking a lad i train out there with me so we're planning on hitting the grimiest and most 'real' gyms possible to try and get decent sparring for a few days, should be interesting

Booked accommodation on airbnb a few weeks ago, chuffed at the nice cheap apartment, then checked it's exact location a couple of days ago - slap bang in the middle of Brownsville...let's see what Tyson complains about eh, bet i had it rougher growing up on the mean streets of sunny Scunny

Brownsville is no joke. Very bad place still to this day. Why not go the whole hog and stay in Vinegar Hill?

Really good match up that, potential to be a real cracker.

Love this fight. Should be a stormer for as long as it lasts. Everything says GGG will win, but then there's the lingering thought that he does take a lot of punches and Lemieux can seriously bang...

Should be a classic, the Canadian is a serious puncher & like everyone says, GG can be a bit contemptuous as he walks through the other guys punches...

someone should prob remind him of a similar fight a few years back, when the latest undefeated, unbeatable sensation from the East ( via Oz ) Kostya Tszyu, took on a challenger who'd already been KO'd and was seen as having little chance, Vince Phillips...what a massive shock that was, as the underdog just kept slamming home punches until the unthinkable happened...

Still, I'm not sure Lemieux has the nous to do the same, and his loss a few years back was a bit alarming, but we don't know... it might have made him an even better fighter;
and they might be coming up with the perfect plan for a surprise here...he will without doubt need it.

Can't wait for this one. Watched Lemieux's last fight. Thought he impressed with DLH and 'Nard cheering him on from ringside. Thought this match-up would be quality but just probably wouldn't be made. Then is was - next up.
