Glad that he's out of his coma, although sad that there's no happy to ending to what was a hell of a journeyman career. Possibly the ultimate "what if" story.

:TU: thank you, that is one hell of an article and Augustus' is a compelling story. Someone more savvy should set up a just giving kind of thing, his living situation shouldn't be like that.

Remember when he came over here and stood Jono Thaxton on his head?

Different class - a proper journeyman. :TU:

Great article. I remember that fight against Burton like it was yesterday. Boxing corruption at its finest, it was a disgrace.

Favourite fighter, what an entertainer and brave man :salut:
Great article too!

Should have started this thread, buried this article in the 'favourite international export thread' - it deserves to be read by more

Great piece, almost had me in tears, poor guy, had it so rough and then that happens.

Who knows what he might have been with the right backers instead of always being the opponent. Tough career, tough life, tough man. The fact he's able to make a joke of his situation is laudable to say the least.

That's a powerful piece. While it's sad, I'm mostly struck by a sense of relief that his character is still intact. What a guy.
