Good 50-50 fight for english title both unbeaten and the champ is a massive 6-1 with paddy power to retain his title. Thoughts.......

Way too wide because Edwards is inexperienced, if they'd had the same number of fights then I might be able to understand it but Norman's already come through a few hard 10 rounders even though he's the younger man by 10 months and while Edwards was a good amateur, I don't think he was good enough or picked up enough experience to say that him only having 4 professional fights won't be a factor in this fight.

Can any of the coaches or people who've boxed confirm whether they agree with my theory on boxers grunting with an open mouth? I personally think if Edwards gets countered on the chin and his mouth is wide open because he's doing his Maria Sharapova impression it will surely multiply the power of the shot several times as well as increasing the chance of him getting a broken jaw. I'm amazed his coach doesn't tell him that if he has to grunt then do it through clenched teeth but then I'm not a coach or someone who's boxed outside of a gym.

Makes sense to me, the jaws a lot stronger when it's closed because the rest of the head will move with it on impact, when it's open the force put on it could force it to move faster than the rest of the skull, which isn't supposed to happen and is likely to lead to the jaw either breaking or dislocating. There's no reason why that wouldn't apply to boxing, but I don't know whether it will make the fighter more likely to be stunned by a punch.

Edwards got stopped in a round by a Kenyan at the worlds so he might not be 100% solid in the chin department.

Norman down to 9/4 now. Can't believe they opened with 6/1 - would have been a sweet price to get.

I've seen nothing to suggest that Edwards should be a huge favourite here, Norman defo worth a punt at them prices.
That uppercut Norman dropped his last opponent with was a peach, if he hits Edwards with it anything could happen.
