Am I supposed to care?

I'll be honest I'm usually an upbeat voice of excitement in regards to the sport. I'm incredibly excited about the wave of young fighters from Japan (the Inoue brothers, Tanaka, Ken Shiro and Maruta), today's announcement regarding Miura Vs Vargas seemed like boxing porn and we have a LOT of good fights coming up (Golovkin Vs Lemiuex, Cotto Vs Canelo, Miiura Vs Vargas, Matthysse Postol, Barthelmy Vs Shafikov, Maruta Vs Canoy, Hara Vs Takayama).
But this weekend just seems like a giant "MEH".
Stevenson Vs Karpency is a farce, but unfortunately it's one of about a dozen with bouts like-
Anthony Joshua Vs Gary Cornish
Dillian Whyte Vs Brian Minto
Cornelius Bundrage Vs Jermall Charlo
Hugo Centeno Jr Vs Lukasz Maciec
Floyd Mayweather Vs Andre Berto
Vanes Martirosyan Vs Ishe Smith (has Smith ever been in a fun fight?)
I know there ARE some good fights (Ryan Vs Hibbert III, Salido Vs Martinez II and Taconing Vs Fajardo) but overall it just seems like a very poor weekend and one that lacks the "big fight" feel despite all the names in action.

i like all vanes fights. he has been robbed a few times and he will make smith fight.
groves is also not boring and some of the other fights on that card don't look bad.
you reminded me to turn on that pbc card. charlo-k9 might not be bad

There are some mouth-watering match ups to look forward to, as you pointed out, but this weekend isn't too bad. At least there is a good amount of televised boxing. Occasionally there is nothing to watch boxing-wise. While the match ups aren't the best on paper, there could turn out to be some good fights in there. I write this as I'm watching Valdez-Avalos and it's looking pretty good so far.
Edit: Well, it was OK, but then Mora stops it before a conclusive ending can happen.

A lot of boxing fans are happy watching televised executions week in & week out, B-P mate. As long as "stars" are performing & they can watch it, that appears to be good enough for them.

Might as well go to a local city center, get yourself some fish and chips and watch the fights start at closing time...at least they might feature some competitive action

Dude, my great-grandad was saying stuff like that the best part of 40 years ago....
I'm sure there is a message in there, somewhere

I don't recall a week in which I've thought "hmmm...didn't realize they were fighting/I forgot that was happening" as much. Even when I read a comment like "IT'S FIGHT DAY!!" on Dan Rafael's Twitter I had no idea what he was referencing at first, and it took a moment or two for me to remember that Mayweather-Berto is today.
Overall a lot of junk, though Martinez-Salido II and Jack-Groves interest me and I'll try to catch those.
