So Mayweather has announced his reitement, why? Hes on the same amount of wins with Rocky Mariano so what are the reasons for this? I smell smoked herrings!

I was wondering myself whether this talk wasn't just the "start" of pay day number 2..... They'd do good numbers anyway, so I'd prefer if they just got on with it and cut out all the sh*t. One thing about Mayweather.....fan polls/ accusations/ allegations....for all his brilliance, he'll be remembered by me for a whole load of nonsense, arguments, insults (remember Manny the midget?) and very boring smack-talk.

He was talking about himself in the third person a lot more than usual also, and that's saying something! Him and Steve Collins together on the sofa were torturous! I think I'd rather be stuck in a lift with Keith Chegwin and Russell Brand rather than that pair

That's what I'm thinking. Make it 50 undefeated plus end up the no1 middleweight.

Mayweather looked sharp as ever last night,his speed,timing and reflexes are still razor sharp,Berto had some moments outhustling Floyd but he was even outfought at times

Though to say he'd be the best middleweight is a bit smoke and mirrors, neither Cotto or Canelo are true middleweights, if he fought Golovkin for the title it would be for real.

Khan should STFU about Mayweather and rematch Danny Garcia.

I suggest he has a fight with whoever sold him that dreadful suit first. The material looked like my mum's wallpaper offcuts she used to use to cover my school books.

Floyd will fight on the Cinco De Mayo in 2016 which should be May 7th I think.

The posturing behind the scenes has already started, its just a case of waiting to see who wins from Cotto or Alvarez and then the "dance" starts
with Manny to see which of them takes the date.

He is out of contract and despite him being the best boxer of recent years, I personally think they will all overbid to get him on that date, Showtime, HBO, all the overseas companies etc, it will be the record breaking 50-0 that will sell, not the fight itself. TV loves history.

My money will be on Manny/Floyd 2, the calling out has started, the IV situation has reared it's head to give Manny an in, it's all staged, does anyone really think that Floyd did not allow the IV stuff to come out, it just adds to the circus, he will fight that weekend go to 50-0 and take a huge pension pot and buy more cars and bet on more basketball/NFL.

Yes, I agree - the whole IV thing gives people a reason to believe that Manny might have a chance in a rematch, which he doesn't.

Mayweather has no intention of retiring, he's just waiting for the offers to roll in, for what will be the biggest grossing fight in history.

I thought Mayweather looked as good as ever against Berto - and Berto actually made a fight of it, putting pressure on Mayweather throughout much of the fight, Floyd looked razor sharp in there, he looks like he could go on for years. Let's hope he doesn't as I would like to see the torch passed to a younger generation now.

I though he looked tired and unprepared, the worse I have ever seen him. There were lot of rounds when he was finding hard to deal with Bertos aggression. This is Berto we are talking about, guy outside top ten in the division, guy who was outboxed by Josesito Lopez.

After seen this fight I thought perhaps he is indeed retiring.

DLH did well, but anyone who thinks he won that has shite in their eye.

DLH faded down the stretch after a good start, he just couldn't maintain the workrate.

I'd have picked a prime DLH to beat Floyd at 147 quite handily, he was far more natural at the weight - but he simply didn't do enough that night to deserve the win. He lost the last 4 rounds clearly, and thus the fight.

Ah well, guess we were seeing different things.

Berto fought a pretty good fight, he did just about the only thing that has ever worked against Mayweather, pressure and workrate, but still got easily outboxed and outfought at times. I thought Mayweather toyed with him for the most part. Mayweather has always looked a little uncomfortable against pressure fighters, he looked out of sorts for the first 2-3 rounds against Hatton until he founds his groove (though the ref sure helped too.)
