Yup....the Rogan fights were fun and showed that Sam could fight a bit.
Thought he faced the best of Chisora as well and gave a good account himself...but Derek just seemed to be that more physical.

Guessing the comeback - if it goes well - might be to put himself in the shop window for a nice earner with Joshua?

Exactly you get good at fighting by fighting not pissing about in the gym or working a door. Such a shame the British H/W scene should be really alive with good fights.

To be honest, I think he's below what Joshua is looking at now. If/when Joshua gets past Whyte he'll be looking at Euro Level minimum.

But being Haye's comeback opponent would be a good gig.

He should get a couple of wins under his belt, then target the British, as I suspect Joshua will be moving up to permanent world/euro level now.

I'd much rather see some good competitive British heavy fights with decent boxers like Sexton, than guys who are already 'world level' like Haye, Chisora, Joshua and Fury (and potentially Whyte).

I'm not a fan of boxers who are at a level lower (or have ridiculous ring rust) being the 'opponents' for people who should be fighting at a more ambitious level.

He's got a really bad back that effects his training I think.

He's a good domestic level fighter. Hopefully he can stay fit and get a couple more decent fights in.

I have always liked Sam Sexton - even made a pilgrimage to his diner in Norwich as my wife is from Norfolk.

A skilled fighter and a man's man, but unfortunately very little pop in his punch.

I'd say Hughie Fury vs Sexton would be good for English title, but even at 20 Fury is probably past Sam's level as his last 3 opponents have been Rudneko, Arias and Firtha all of whom are ranked higher than Sexton.

Hughie hasn't fought firtha yet

Hmm, while Sokolowski has a terrible record at the first glance, his opponents (including Sexton) have a combined record of 49-4. That's really impressive.
