Floyd has been main event in all of his fights since 2001 and now its talk of Ward fighting on the undercard of Cotto/Canelo that's hilarious. That's
what he gets for being inactive and avoiding the Kovalevs and Stevensons. You guys keep talking about Kovalev he wants no part of Stevenson
just as much

The thing is, I think Ward as an undercard fighter is surprising only to him

He deserves it, there is absolutely nothing interesting about the guy. If he stepped up then people would take notice.

I doubt he will be on that undercard. He will ask for too much money, because he is delusional about his popularity.

. . . and if he retired today very few would notice.

He needs a run of good opposition, I like how he comes across and what I've read about him he is a decent man, he has a lot of talent and if he's humble enough to be on an undercard that shows he has a good temperament. I hope he does well, I know Paul Smith was several rungs lower than Ward but he dished out an artistic beating.

There are normally two reasons people box:
1) They want to get paid
2) They want to be the best
For most, when you achieve point number 2, or even get in and among the best in your division, then point 1 is achieved. I am sure that Andre Ward has already earned enough to live on for the rest of his life, but as time goes on the amount of money that he will earn from fights will just decrease. No one is interested in watching him, and that is a shame because he is a great fighter. Rigo has the same issues, but also has the same problem, not taking on the best fights out there for him. Ward hasn't got enough competition at SMW, so to make people interested, and for him to make money, he needs to step up and take on the big names at LHW.

I agree with most of your post. However, SOGgy is not humble. Delusional maybe, but not humble.

I meant in the sense that he's not cutting his nose off to spite his face, an outing is an outing even if it's on an undercard + its realistic, the Cotto v Alvarez bout is one of the very biggest in boxing.
He does seem completely sure of his faith and his role in the bigger picture, his role is bigger than a 'normal' persons as he's well known - I'm not sure if he's deluded, he seems pretty happy and satisfied with his lot - I wish I was as deluded!

It used to be that big names fought on the same bill like Duran and hearns so I don't see the big deal myself .

He has the talent to be #1 P4P but when you go 3 years without a significant fight, people will naturally stop giving a f*ck. He needs to pick a weight class and fight some decent opponents.

Would it be better if he just didn't fight at all? He's a super middleweight who has been dealing with promotional issues and injuries who you are ragging on for not having ignored all that to fight light heavyweights.
I mean I know you're a twit, but come on. Try to show some internal logic or something.
Also, stop fecking typing "lol" all the time. Please. It makes you sound stupider than you actually are, and that takes some doing.

Talent was never Andre's problem.
Exposure was and is.
This is a no brainer and he should do it.
A good showing and maybe he gets his own PPV next year.

It would be definitely better if he fought good opposition in the last 4 years. He could have a reserved spot among ATGs.
Instead, he created those promotional problems, because he thought he was not getting enough money due to his promoter and not because he lacks charisma and exciting style.

He's already an ATG. And as far as I know, he had legitimate injuries and promotional issues. Now, one of the issues may well have been that he didn't think he was getting enough money, but it's ridiculous to assume that he should have been fighting Kovalev while he was injured and ridiculing him if he happens to be on an undercard now. The way forward is obviously to keep fighting and winning, and it would be fine if that happened to be on an undercard.

I'm actually looking forward to when Andre Ward retires and just calls the fights ringside because I find his commentary to be the best in Boxing. I can't stand Andre Ward the boxer but Ward the Commentator is so much better than the other boxer turned announcers in the business.
Roy's substance is great but let's face it, his hold on the English language is horrible. I enjoy Paulie but he's sold out with Showtime and is a company man who refused to be critical of a Showtime fighter. I'd take Ward over any of them. I wish he'd just hang them up already if his hearts not into Boxing anymore. 1 pathetic fight in 3 years and now contemplating an undercard fight? That should tell you somethingif you're Ward. Wrap it up.

I agree with those who see no problem with SOGgy rebuilding his career partially with a fight on the undercard of Cotto v GingerHead. It makes sense.
I have always enjoyed watching SOGgy's superior skill set and gifts combination in action. He was on his way to p4p #1 but he managed to derail himself.
What I do not like is how he drained Dawson, although Chad has only his own delusional ignorance to blame, and how Andre now grandstands that he is ready to drag 3G up 8 pounds and give him the privilege of splitting a purse 50-50 with Ward's unpopular, can't draw maggots to an outhouse ass.
Ward IS guilty of seldom fighting away from home. Look at DeGale for an example of a fighter who understands that he must take it on the road to build his brand.
If Ward retired today few would notice and he would be a top notch ringside color man, as caldo2025 pointed out.

I couldn't care less about the undercard / main attraction angle. If he fights an interesting opponent, then kudos to him.
