All of them wanted the Floyd sweepstakes and now that it's not even a factor anymore they have to crawl, scratch, knaw,

The only guys that I am excluding is Danny Garcia and Timothy Bradley...those others will have to make a name for them-

selves I'm especially laughing at Khan and Thurman. I know they secretely "Cringe" at the idea of fighting Kell Brook or

What the heck would make anyone think that better fights will be made now that Floyd's gone? If anything, now were going to have 4 or 5 fighters thinking that they are taking over for Floyd now and get to dictate every matter under the sun. Heck, Brook, Thurman and Khan are already doing it. Each of them already thinks that a fight against them is hitting a "sweepstakes".

Everyone thought that a bunch of great welterweight showdowns would be announced after Floyd's last fight but nope...same old same old bs. Nothing will change.

I do think that eventually this will change slightly. Right now some guys are actually hoping that he doesn't stay retired so that they can get their shot. The best thing that can happen for us fight fans is that he sticks to his word and stays retired. Over time these guys will get the hint.

Now all we need is for this damn cold war to end

I like your optimism but I think our only shot of seeing better fights is the hands of Canelo, Cotto, GGG and Lemieux right now. I personally think that these two fights will be the best fights we've seen in years and they will be absolute wars. If I'm correct then it's going to raise the bar substantially in the sport and be the benchmark for fights in 2017. Boxing is a copycat sport more than any other. I think that every fighter will be watching these two matches and they will be inspired to get in the ring and have their own historic fights.

Let's face it, Floyd hasn't been a good roll model for these young boxers. He's taught them that they don't have to face the #1 challenger ever. They don't have to adhere to the rules of the sport. They can pick and choose soft fights and still make money. In the end, we lose. So I'm hoping that a couple of instant classics will erase 10 years of damage Floyd's done.
