Mick Katsidis not travelling too well. He has been put on a three-month good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to possessing an ice pipe. Another drug related charge against was dismissed in July.

Good god this saddens me. I loved Kats as a fighter so sad to see what has become of him but he's an adult with a wife and kid I really hope he gets his act together.

In a later report Katsidis has offered an apology to his fans. But it comes across as pretty hollow under the circumstances:

'I'm very sorry for all the young people who supported me and look up to me,'

'Let's just set a good example from here on and show I can do the right thing.'

Let's hope Mick can clean his act up.

Former boxing champion Michael Katsidis will plead guilty to a drug possession charge when he faces a Gold Coast court.

The case against the former WBO interim lightweight world champion was mentioned in a Brisbane court on Monday, but the boxer wasn't present.

His lawyer indicated the former champ would enter a plea of guilty when the matter is heard in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

And the hits keep coming for Kats.

Sad to see these stories about Kats come up in recent years.

Heard an interview on the radio a few months ago with Dr Omalu, who Will Smith played in the recent film Concussion. He was talking about afflictions he found in former NFL players he attributed directly to concussion, such as early deaths, suicide, substance abuse, dementia, decreased mental health, ect

Obviously I don't know Katsidis personally, but i sure hope his recent troubles arent a product of what he's endured in the ring.

Well that was certainly tragic too. Like i said, dont know the guy to say anything as fact.

He & his brother have always been on wrong side of local constabulary.
Hopefully, one day he'll grow balls & thank Brendon Smith for all he'd done & tried to do for him.
