Edwin Valero vs Naseem Hamed at Super Feather Catchweight

Since both were KO' artists, Nasseem was better at his natural weight of Feather, than Edwin was at Lightweight.....and Edwin did own a Super Feather championship....seems a sensible matchup.

Ediwn's career began 2 months after Naseem's ended. So no real time fight could have taken place....though if it did, Edwin would surely have started off with a loss IMHO.

However with each at their prime, and Edwin forced to take off some weight, and Naseem allowed to be a bit flexilbe with his, it would seem a fun assessment.

I'll also stipulate in this hypothetical that weight must be made hours before the fight. So honest weights in this case. 127 ish.

Naz was twice the fighter but I can't see him fighting Valero, who was a fvcking massive super-feather what with weight-draining & all.

Naz was only 5'3". No way in hell he goes up against Valero, for the same reason he would never have gone up against, say, Acelino Freitas or Diego Corrales.

Wasn't Naz a small featherweight too if I remember rightly?

Yep Naz was short, but always right at 126......so at 127 Naz would be pretty comfortable, and Valero would be pretty badly weight drained. So the catchweight gives much more to Naz than to Edwin. But still seen as a mismatch eh? Would be a beanpole vs a fire hydrant......sort of Mutt and Jeffish.
