On the airwaves 10pm tonight, Talksport, My Sporting Life.

If anyone is remotely interested Talksport tonight, Sunday 4th, Audley Harrison, My Sporting Life. These are generally good interviews and could reveal any intentions by Fraudley. 10pm if anyone wants to stay up and listen to him

Could be mildly interesting. One thing Audley can certainly do is talk!

Is there was a world championship for talking Audley would be the undasputed champeeen of the wurrrld!

Audley's got an interesting story, he paved the way for a lot of boxers, his pro career wasn't that great but still a great talker and should be good to listen too.

Absolutely.

Audley is an articulate & engaging guy; he's just not a very good PROFESSIONAL boxer.

Audley... it's a pleasure to have you here... let's go right back to the beginning and tell me about the first time you got into a boxing ring. Because it really fascinates what it must feel like to get into the ring for the first time. I bet it's a frightening prospect. I know I wouldn't want to do it! I would listen to any broadcast that actively prevents Audley from talking.

Only he didn't need to do that, he earn't millions in selling the big fights he was in. You got to love the Audley.

He flattered to decieve in the ring more often than not but i cant help but like him and his part in amateur boxing cant be played down,i used to hate seeing him booed and riduculed after being KO'd

I agree (well, except when I remember wasting good money on the Haye PPV ).

Audley was a strange character - showed so much heart against Sprott when he boxed 10 rounds or so with 1 arm & had so much confidence when he was in Prizefighter, but then just completely froze against Haye & Wilder.

Seems like a genuinely nice guy though, and he could probably still get me believing in his world title credentials ! I've always thought he'd be an excellent co-commentator / studio analyst.

I like Audley, happy to admit that. Won a Gold medal for us at the Olympics, and represented his country with honours. He just wasn't able to convert that into being a top quality heavyweight. He still achieved more than 99% of fighters out there.

Listening now. He's coming over well, apart from a talking in the first person tendency.

And the number of times he cites the Ring cover article about the future of the heavyweights is a bit sad as though it was a guarantee he was title belt bound. The other two fighters on the same cover were Joe Mesi and Dominick Guinn FFS. Hardly the predictions of a pugilistic Nostradamus.

although Joe Mesi did retire undefeated.....

...but he was life and death with Jirov, a talented but blown up CW.

I agree with this. I haven't caught it but I will seek it out on one of these "podcast" thingies. I'm sure Danny Kelly's stuff is all on podcast. Audley seems like a very nice fella from what I can gather. His "Walkers crisps" speech was a personal highlight for me and should be played in schools and workplaces up and down the land. And Danny Kelly is a national treasure too, whilst we're about it.
