Another fight bites the dust.

Matchroom just twitted Gavin i out with a foot injury.....

I have VIP tickets for this and the week after was all booked up to go to Germany for Fury Klitchko. So more good news

With a foot injury, gutted as I've got a ticket.

Matchroom saying a replacement opponent to be announced. Personally I'd prefer them to postpone this fight than get a poor late replacement, was this fight ever going to happen it went against all of Gavin's plans to go to light welter.

Gavin has tweeted a picture of his foot, it looks a mess. Apparently he got run over. I assume by a vehicle. How do professional sportsmen get themselves run over ? Unbelievable.

Frankie got run over (his foot) a couple of weeks ago apparently.

After the farce with Gavin v Van Heerden I said I'd never buy a ticket for a Matchroom show for a while and didn't till this one. Now I'm not knocking the injury (although a sportsman really should be more careful) but why can't Matchroom simply postpone.

I wouldn't put it passed them to see it get moved to one of the pay per view shows or Frankie in a big fight at light welter on one of those and the people of Birmingham and the Midlands ripped off again!

Shame I just don't think this fight will happen now. Obviously Frankie hasn't bottled it that foot looks nasty, just don't think Matchroom will put them together when he is fit.

Jon Pegg's just retweeted a tweet with a photo of Frankie sparring from 2nd Oct yet Frankie said it happened 2 weeks ago

I wudn't say people r being ripped off. Injuries happen it cant be helped yes its disappointing the main event is off but their are still some good fights on. Look at all the other fighters who hav prepared wud it b fair to cancel the show. The fight makes enough money in midlands for it not to happen in the midlands at a later date

Well for someone who paid for a ticket I feel I'm being ripped off I paid to see Gavin v Eggington why not just postpone the show till when that can happen? Instead we'll get a poor late replacement opponent.

I also paid for Gavin v Van Heerden and got AJ in a 2 round knock (because Sky needed another world title fight for their pay per view show so Gavin was brought in for Brook) over earlier this year! Matchroom not doing very well in the Midlands are they, incidently I got the main event I piad to see in Wolverhampton on Saturday on a Warren show.

You say there are some good fights on the undercard, yes theres a couple of decent area title fights and a British title fight. For a mid sized venue yes that would be decent but for an arena show I think its pretty poor to be honest. Especially for those watching on tv as the midlands area title fights aren't really going to mean much to.

Frankie's already retweeting dickheads mentioning it for the o2 bill, wouldn't surprise me if thats already been done!

fw has had plenty of top of the bills pulled and shows gone ahead. U can get a refund on your ticket if your that unhappy.

I know I can and I'll decide when they announce Sam's opponent but its not really the fact that the fights off that makes me unhappy its the fact it all smells a bit fishy to me and they'll probably shift it (or Gavin in a big fight at light welter) to a pay per view card in London and fornicate the Midlands fans........................sounds similar to last time?

Last time was a massive chance for gavin to fight for a world title.. This fight sells in the midlands and if it happens will deffo b in brum. Makes hearn lots of money and helps his midland fighters. Its disappointing but tv pr work and other fighters venue cost need to b considered b4 a postponement

More likely to end up with Eggington v Welborn and Macklin v TBA as was first planned I could never see Macklin making light middle anyway!

So he got run over 2.5 weeks ago and doesn't mention it until today ?

How the frig did he mange to get his foot run over ? - I try to avoid such situations myself but if I was a professional boxer training I would definitely avoid putting my foot (or indeed any other body part) under a tonne of heavy machinery.

Nah not going Walsall Saturday I don't think mate was at Wolvo Saturday and meant to be at this week after and all £ ain't it. Mind you if decide on a refund for this might go Walsall, card doesn't look great though does it

Yeah fair flay to you mate, shame Pearce didn't get the shout v Hunt for the Matchroom show rather than Wiggins.

Ah that explains it I thought Hearn threw money at Gavin to fight Sam the day before the presser when he hadn't got a decent headline fight lined up for it. Seems now its because the board knocked Welborn back, no offence to Jason hes a sound lad but I'm worried if Hearn thought Eggington v Welborn would have been an acceptable headline fight for an arena card.

Hunts team want nothing to do with pearce. hunt was boxing well against him but caved under the pressure. B interesting to see who hearn gets in to replace gavin.

I was looking forward to this fight, with my expectation being that Eggington would be too much for Gavin. I think it is a blessing in disguise for Frankie.

Matchroom usually are spot on with refunds etc.

If he's mashed his foot, then I suppose it's a better excuse than most given nowadays to postpone fights.

Why is his foot mashed ? Is he a professional or not ?
