It's an intriguing matchup in that Narvaez is back from a stoppage loss... and Pichardo is on a good streak of decent wins on the local Argentina scene.

D.R. Pichardo Liriano is pretty talented offensively... likes to throw good fluid precise combos from odd angles he develops with awkward dynamic footwork.
Image

Offensively he looks a little like Narvaez (Narvaez has the defensive master style but can also be an offensive warrior...)...
Image

But Narvaez is better in every aspect of Liriano's game... Well that is if Narvaez didn't get old overnight... And IMO that's why this fight is happening.

Narvaez was for a few years in a row top10 (top5 for me) one of the most entertaining fighter in the sport.
Image

His warrior all out style while displaying spectacular style has made him a fan favorite.
Image

He has been showing some great perfect footwork, back by flurries of precise punches that cumulate to submit his opponents mentally and physically.
Image

If he is not an all out punching machine, he uses his other "ring personality" displaying a spectacular locche'sque defense.

Liriano's main problem is that he starts looking great and very talented but often can't handle the pace and ends up throwing loose arm punches, leaving his guard down, getting hit flush and sometimes even getting dropped late.

If Narvaez' defeat to Inoue hasn't ruined him (doubt it did) everything should go well and it should be a VERY entertaining fight. I expect Narvaez to mix but be VERY elusive early and subtle with body work. Once he has Liriano's stamina and mobility down, i think he'll start the spectacular grinding and will cumulate a TKO stoppage.
