On October 30th Tony Thompson and Malik Scott lace ’em up at The Venue at UCF in Orlando in a 10-round Premier Boxing Champions bout on Bounce TV.

Thompson 40-5 and Scott 37-2-1 will headline the event, while the co-main event features undefeated super lightweights Lydell Rhodes 23-0-1 and Sergey Lipinets 7-0 in a 10-round bout.

“I’m not looking past Malik Scott because he’s an experienced and crafty fighter. I think most fighters will stay away from a style like Malik’s but everyone knows I will fight anyone. I’ll be looking to make a statement against him by pressing the action and keeping him out of his comfort zone” - Tony Thompson

Another very good matchup. If this were a couple of years ago, Thompson would have to be favourite. Not so sure now.

Good matchup I agree, and I think Thompson still has Scott covered.

I favour Thompson for this. I still think he have to be top level to get past him at the moment.

No disrespect but he's a great gatekeeper just ask Solis and Price.

TT has shown more heart and a better chin but he is up there in age. Still favor TT to win, but good matchup.

Gerald Washington-Amir Mansour is 5 days away.

For me Thompson is still the favorit, especially is Malik Scott dives again, just like against Deontay Wilder.

It's almost impossible to prove or disprove a dive. I have dive suspicions on Bonecrusher Smith-Tim Witherspoon, Ali-Liston 2, and I hate to say it, Foreman-Moorer.

But who really knows? I think Wilder-Scott was legit, but we can argue about it till the cows come home because no one can prove, or disprove anything.

Thompson wins unless his age has suddenly hit him since his last fight.

I'd like to see Thompson/Teper as Teper has been on a big win streak but it's tough to say how legit he is. Thompson is basically the division's gatekeeper to the top 10.

Well sorry, but from the start till end Malik Scott hasn't even tried to hit Deontay Wilder, NOT EVEN TRIED!
Then he finally got hit, not hard at all and the hard punch after it missed his head entirely, he flew to the ground, clearly followed Wilder with his eyes (in other words not dizzy at all), then looking under his shoulder to the crowd and acting like he's trying to stand up, but in fact just stays at the ground. Nowadays a lot of youtube vids of it happening are removed, but it was clearly visable.
The reff showed Wilder as a winner and the crowd was booing both.
But now the most odd thing comes, you would expect him to try to get away as fast as possible out of emberrassement, pretty much like Perez did when he lost against Povetkin, but no, he stayed there and allmost cheared for Wilder, later they said they were friends and all that?!

Well I'm sorry, but if that fight isn't fixed, then America got a serious problem, their league simply can't be this bad, despite he couldn't win against any European either.

Some people say "America got a serious problem" because of Obama, or the Clintons, or the Bushs, or the big banks. First time I've read America has a serious problem if the Wilder-Scott fight wasn't fixed. :witzend:

But I re-watched it again. Some people believe if a head doesn't snap back and sweat doesn't going flying it wasn't a real punch. That's nonsense. People have literally died from shots where the ignorant crowd was screaming "Fix."

Any boxing trainer will tell you if you're hit in the ear, you lose your equilibrium. You lose your balance. Wilder landed two hard shots. If the fight was fixed, Scott did a better acting job than Sonny Liston ever did. Of course it could have been fixed, as almost any fight could be. But I highly doubt it was. What would Scott gain by taking a dive? If Scott could have beaten Wilder, he'd be in the driver's seat. Perhaps the middle ground is the truth as it often is. Perhaps Scott could have gotten up if he really tried, but Scott felt Wilder's power and didn't want anymore of it. That would not be way out there, as he didn't seem to want to fight Chisora anymore either.

Also fighters are often "cold" in the first round and can't take a good shot early. Only the fighter hit by the shot knows what happened.

This is a very strange fight. Two guys who no one cares about, at similar levels, fighting with nothing to gain.

Don't get me wrong fights of similar level guys are great for boxing, but this is a weird one.

Even outside of the shot, the entire minit before the hit already looked very odd and so did the first 5 minits after it, everything was completely unnatural.

If you look at this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Si8wmNeVjc
You see that the blue guy is acting very unnatural for a boxer.

But when you see this:

Everything starts making sense.

People care a more about Thompson since he stopped Price twice, and then beat Solis twice. He's not irrelevant. Just ask Price and Solis.

Yes they do, but it's still a pretty insignificant amount of caring.

I think people either care or they don't. In the case of Thompson, he's still relevant. So many still care about him.

I don't see it. He's an opponent who's brought in as an opponent who happened to get lucky to draw two hype jobs. One with a shattered china chin and another who doesn't train or have any passion for the sport. Substitute almost any B level guy with decent pop and stamina and the result against Price and Solis (and Takam, and Pulev, and Klitschko) remains the same.

People only care about Thompson when he's brought in to test a prospect or fringe contender. Malik Scott is neither, in fact he's in the same boat as Thompson. Hence why this is a strange (albeit a good) fight to be made in today's boxing climate.

Nobody knew how fragile Price was until Thompson demonstrated it - twice.

His wins against Solis were also meritorious, and I think he will beat Scott.

But Price was indeed fragile, and Solis is indeed a fat lazy pig. Again, any B level fighter would have done the same.

And I agree, I think he will beat Scott.

Did Thompson ever get a ban in the US from failing his PED test a while back? I read that he said it was his high blood pressure meds, but didn't provide evidence to satisfy people over-seas. I believe he was banned in the UK and Australia?

Anyway, If Tony gets to have his "Tiger juice", he may be favored. Personally I would lean towards Scott for a decision win. Tony is getting old.

Depends on who you decide to believe.
A statement from Thompson's attorney said the BBBC and UKAD accepted his paperwork.
Here is a link to the BS article:http://www.BS.com/tony-thompso ... est--94059

Can anybody here check fightfax?

Also, saying he didn't provide evidence just means the commission decided not to recognize any documents he provides.
Don't buy into the illusion that a prescription is automatic permission to have whatever was prescribed in your system.
Doctors have no authority over boxing commissions, they are under no obligation at all to honor perfectly legit prescriptions.
Commissions can say: " Yep, you have a valid prescription, we the commission recognize your prescription and we're still going to suspend you for X amount of time".

A fair description of Thompson would be: overweight male in his early 40's
Yeah, guys that fit that description are never on high blood pressure medication

As for the Thompson/Scott fight..............I like this fight although I don't expect it to be a particularly good fight.
Tough call, I've never been impressed with Scott but TT is old and has always been slow.........I'm going with Scott via tight decision.

I was always sceptical of Moorer-Foreman. Until

Read Teddy Atlas book and he said the ending punch was that hard it actually completly split Moorers gumshield.

Seems legit. Also didn't help Moorer was in cruise control at that point and didn't see it coming.
