Duco Event's Corporate World Title

Letele vs Taetuli rematch for same title - Oct 15
According to NZPBA's official result, previous bout was PRO bout. Duco did its best to have it amended to "corporate" so it wouldn't be recorded in Boxrec....but failed
Since then, Duco has decided to turn to alternative regulator = NZNBF, figuring it might be easier to convince after the fact

I guess it's standby security title. If BB gets done it was Corporate & if he wins it was fully fledged Pro bout ;;-)

I can't quite get my head around this little sham.

Isn't Duco's Corporate World Title a white collar thing only?

For a fight to be deemed a ''pro'' fight what are the boxes it must tick?

As far as I'm concerned it'll recorded Pro bout. Corporate fighters don't get paid

Just seeking some clarity on what constitutes a pro bout?

I assume it is against the rules for an amateur to be awarded prize money for winning a fight? I know at some stage that would have been the case. Like it was in footrunning years ago where young runners in particular had to be seen to be getting absolutely nothing for competing or they risked losing their amateur status.

But these days there are some wealthy Olympians getting around in fancy cars and living in big houses. So the amateur/professional line in the sand is pretty blurry these days.

"Just seeking some clarity on what constitutes a pro bout?"
In OZ it's easy. If State regulator says it was Pro bout...Pro it was. As far I know Corporate bouts are only allowed in Victoria & Queensland. In Qld ANBF other than allowing its referees to participate, it takes no part. In Victoria, whilst they need to meet all requirements as Pros = registration, medical, bloods, pre & post medical, wore 16oz gloves & officiated by ref & 3 judges. Albeit all requirements, it's not classed Pro bout. Had an ongoing argument with Mr Vocale 'cos he insisted entering such results in Boxrec, claiming Vic Control, Boxrec's founder & I are simply wrong.
I guess at the time, he had a better understanding of Vic legislation & its rules & regulations ;;-)

Like a boss,

I am a little concerned by your response.

Olympians whom are wealthy rely on sponsorship from the private sector, grants from their home boxing federations, and funding from various sources. They are NOT paid to fight.

The aforementioned blurry line you refer to seems totally unblurred to me.

You fight and get paid for the bout which is commissioned by a recognized boxing federation = Professional
You fight and get paid for a bout not commissioned by a recognized boxing federation = Semi Professional/Corporate boxing
You fight under the Amateur rules in which you are unpaid = You are a amateur

Please explain what you find blurry, because it looks crystal clear to me.

In NZ its very simular to what you explained but more like this

You fight and get paid for the bout which is commissioned by a recognized boxing federation = Professional
You fight and NOT get paid for a bout which is commissioned by a recognized boxing federation = Semi Professional/Corporate boxing
You fight under the Amateur rules in which you are unpaid = You are a amateur

in New Zealand if a bout is not commissioned by a recognized boxing federation that's accepted by the NZ Government then its a illegal fight

Sorry, so I am clear here -
What you are saying is that the rules are that if I can get back into shape with 4 years as an amateur 20 years ago, Duco can sign me for free on a professional card against a Pro. That would be classed as what you say in the UK as a 'semi Pro bout'?
Would I still have to have my medical certificates?
