Lsc is gonna hurt that kid.
Selby went tit for tat with an ancient montiel who imo landed the more effective shots.
Santa cruz is gonna hurt selby badly.

Selby certainly needs to improve on that performance to beat someone like Santa Cruz, but he is definitely capable of better.
He has a tendency to make hard work of fights he is expected to win well. Almost as if he is just going through the motions at times.
Santa Cruz would start as a big favourite if they fought next.

Selby got caught clean too often by Montiel. If he got caught like that by Walters he wouldn't get up for a week.
Selby is a good fighter and probably a bit better than he showed in this fight but he has no chance against the top guys in this division.

Santa Cruz would probably win, but lets not act like he is some kind of killer. When he was on his five year bum of the month tour he fought a lot of guys much worse than selby without wrecking them.

Selby doesn't seem ready for Santa Cruz, but considering they're about the same age, I doubt he ever will be.
Maybe Selby/Castellanos?

If you think Santa Cruz went on a 5-year "bum of the month tour" I can't imagine what you think of Selby's last 5 years.

That's if the fight happens. I don't think that we're going to see it.
If the bout does come off, Leo would go in to it as the moderate favourite, but Selby is a fairly good fighter, certainly better than what some people are rating him. Could be a reasonably good fight.
But still, I'd be expecting a LSC victory.

I think Santa Cruz would win a decision over Selby. I don't think he'd "Wreck" him. It'd be a competitive fight

Yeah, I'd pick LSC by decision, not wreckage. Selby is better than he showed in his last outing, though not on Leo's level in my opinion.

I'd agree off of last night Selby isn't ready for the likes of Cruz at this point, Selby is a decent boxer but has a lack of power that he has to compensate with his skill.
Someone like Gary Russell Jr might be more up his street in the near future if he decides to up the comp.

I dont see Selby beating Russell, who might well be favored over Santa Cruz too. Gary looked very sharp in his demolition of Gonzalez.
Russell defends his WBC belt on 11/14 vs Oscar Escandon.

There's no way GR would be favored over LSC but I think that fight would be fantastic. In the end, I think that LSC's reach and work rate would be too much for GR though.

But selby hasn't been in world title fights for the last three years

Maybe Russell will defend after that against Jonathan Oquendo in a battle of people who put Jhonny on his ass and beat him....as lackluster as that would be it would certainly top the crappy fight he's got coming up.

I'd take Cruz if he fought Russell right now.

I guess, but I think most of us would agree that ABC title belts are pretty meaningless these days.

Selby is flawed, but seems a lot stronger playing on the counter, so being an underdog would suit him better.
Santa Cruz I'm still not sure about.
