Just turned 23 and only hours ago was an unbeaten prospect who seemed to have a bright future. I hope he comes out of this okay.

Omg! I was at this fight. His opponent kept getting away with back of the head shots and fans were booing because Pritchard took his time to recover after about the 3rd back of the head blow. I felt like something was off, I thought maybe he was sick, and then after throwing in the towel he was walked back with his team, and about 5 minutes later I saw the Emergency response team scurrying to grab a gurney.

Wow, I was going to badmouth him for what I thought was a really amateurish performance. Now I feel bad. Hope he can make a recovery.

Wow this is terrible news. This is the same thing that ended Joe Mesi's career. Rabbit punches against Jirov. I hope everything is OK.

There needs to be a harsher punishment for these punches to deter guys from throwing them. Problem is they are often hard to identify at times.

Because they are much easier to spot and often thrown in the clinch.

to be fair, Colon was giving his back and turning his head ALOT when he was hurt. Whats the other fighter supposed to do when hes in beast mode going in for the KO?

Agree. Williams was dirty, but Colon was not better.

Yea Colon definitely didn't cover himself in glory in this fight. He threw one of the most blatant low blows I've ever seen which the ref rightly deducted 2 points for.

Just watched the fight. Good thing he was DQ'd when he was, you never know maybe it saved his life. Rabbit punches are no joke and are very dangerous. Hope he gets well soon

I saw this when I woke up.

I was a huge fan of Colon and spoke to him a few times through social media.

Seems a nice bloke. Really hope he makes a speedy recovery. It's easy to forget how brutal our sport can be at times.

I haven't seen the fight, could the Ref or corner of done anything different?

The dq win is BS this should be a NC Colon was getting hit way to often behind the head the same kind of shots that poor Gerald McClellan took from ben.

ESPN just published an article on Colon. Unfortunately, he is in a persistent vegetative state and is cared for by his parents. He's able to breath independently but has to rely on others for everything else. Thus far there has been no happy ending, and it doesn't look like there is going to be one.
