Anybody planning on doing a round-by-round for the fights at MSG tonight?

I guess we could start one here.
Johnson won a UD over O'Kane in a one-sided but fairly good fight. O'Kane was very gritty and threw lots of punches but the quality consistently came from Johnson.

Vidondo down in the second and looking close to being stopped.

.....and he gets KTFO
Ortiz is good and I'd like to see him against better opponents, especially considering his age.

vidondo really looked sloppy in 2nd, like a different guy than the 1st.
didn't look like he was under much more pressure. he just started
throwing punches out of position and reaching. the initial combo leading
to the KD from ortiz was good, though, slipping and countering.

RG-viloria intros

RG finished 1st strong, and judges ALWAYS give the favored fighter the first even
if he doesn't throw a punch, but i gave 1st to viloria, who was busier and landed more
and was more effective

gave 2nd to viloria for same reason as first, although this was a closer round,
with RG's body shots really digging in hard

short right hand inside drops viloria early in 3rd drops him for 1st time in career.
10-8 RG

Gonzalez is the most aesthetically pleasing pure boxer I've ever seen, his movement/footwork is great his punch variety and combinations are beautiful to watch.

I agree. He's incredibly fluid and can put together 6 shots like it's nothing.

RG 4th
in 5th, viloria started to look like a sparring partner, RG going hard body-head-body
RG up 48-46, but one round i scored for vilaria was close so could be 49-45

Viloria is a nice fighter but no one in this division can deal with this cat.

Gonzalez is our generations SRR.

maybe Julio Caesar Chavez

i admire guys like viloria who keep fighting and trying when it would
be so easy to get discouraged and quit. a few times after viloria body
shots, RG has crumpled and not thrown another punch for a long time.
ref stopped it. too much punishment to viloria after several clean shots
on ropes

I'd say he's (Gonzalez) got more of a style and grace about him tbh.
Good stoppage by the ref.

i think most of the mariah carey wannabes, who try to hit every octave every other word,
are trying to hide that they can't hold a note to sing the song straight. i'd still rather they
just try and if their voice isn't perfect then it's an honest effort, rather than mangle it,
as if the anthem is all about your vanity.

Lemieux backing up too much. He's looking timid and that's a bad sign.

GGG poking away with jab, lands at least half, occasionally tries to follow up with overhand right.
lemieux threw lots of punches but i only saw 2 body shots last 30 2nds land
1st to GGG

I fully expected DL to come out swinging ,Looks a little slow and unwilling to commit on shots, getting picked apart right now. nothing huge has landed. But give GGG an opening and its goodnight

Every round been about the same. Third Lemieux connected a couple times, but outworked by GGG
30-27 GGG
