With 3 more chances to qualify boxing in Rio with less than a year to go. What's your predictions on how many at what weight will be on that road to the Rio Olympics ?

No more than 5 to qualify and no more than 2 medals, too many strong nations with fighters yet to qualify to do any better than that.

I wouldn't be too surprised if our woman brought home more medals than our men next year

Getting through from Europe is harder than getting a medal at the tournament itself.

As of now Ireland have three qualified for the Olympics next year, Britain has ZERO. Who is expected to be the great British hope for next year and where are the fruits of the 2012 investments?

I thought Ashfaq got robbed in the worlds and is always in close fights with Conlan so he's not far away at all, Ali and Fowler are both in with a shout, especially Ali. It's not a shambles at all, just incredibly hard.

The Savon fight scoring was shocking. He clearly won every round.

Hard to believe even he hasn't qualified yet.

McCormack got robbed again.
Ali was unlucky.

Joe Joyce will be disappointed he didn't beat the French kid.

3 qualifying tournaments next year. 1 is in Turkey and 1 in Azerbaijan. Neither place known for great amateur scoring.

Joyce will get in, Fowler will as long as he doesn't get cut. Hopefully a couple others will aswell.

The Uzbeks were the surprising country. Loads of talent there.
The Americans are doing worse than us, only 4 qualified for the worlds.

I'm no expert on the amateur games but how is Joyce not qualified when he got bronze in the worlds ?

Only the winner qualified at super-heavy. Most of the qualifiers so far seem to have come from WSB. I'm not sure if there are quotas for each region. If there are, it's going to be tough for the Europeans to qualify. Still, Audley only got through in the last qualifier and he didn't do too bad.
