Multiple sources reporting that it's on Feb 27th in Manchester, on Sky box office.

By sources I mean boxing writers, don't know personally if its true.

I'm may get stick for this but it is definitely NOT a PPV fight.

I'm glad it's happening and I'll probably go to the fight live, but PPV for fights like this is what damages the sport IMO.

Neither is really that well known to general public ( except Frampton in Northern Ireland).

What happened to the deal barry had with ITV then ?

Really like Frampton he comes across as a sound bloke in interviews (poor Quigg has the charisma of a breeze block)

Frampton won his title from a reigning champ, Quigg was got his through the 'WBA Interim/It's Your Turn To Be Champ' route.

But I really want Quigg to win just to shut up that total p*nis McGuigan.

He was a smug self satisfied little tw*t when he was fighting, but his arrogance has gone off the scale since Frampton came to prominence, his attitude to Quigg after the Avalos fight was a disgrace.

Total guesswork on my part but personally I feel the Gonzalez fight alerted them to the fact that Frampton may not be the absolute superstar that Barry has always thought, thereby take a huge deal now and if they are proved right and he beats Quigg with the ease they have always thought he does then it's game back on wherever and with whomever he wishes to deal.

Think it's a tough fight to call personally and always have felt that way, must admit I hope the rumours are correct and it's on, as stated above they would have to be crazy to not make the fight now really after what nearly happened in Frampton's last fight, we have seen too many good matches go up in smoke purely because of stuff like that.

Yeah there was never any deal to speak of. More of a fight-by-fight basis, favours called in etc etc there was never anything long term in this.

I'm a massive Frampton fan but I also can't stand mcguigan. .

great fight to look forward to and it's a real 50-50.

This fight will be pay per view... It's too BIG a fight and there's too much money to be made with the subscriptions. There's no way this is free-to-view or on Sky Sports.

I get what you are saying but a title unification fight is damaging for the sport compared to say Anthony Joshua fighting for a British title as the ppv headline or Bellew v cleverly.

It's not a unification fight unless Rigondeaux gets stripped and Quigg becomes the top champion with the WBA. It is however two of the best in the weight class fighting each other.

This is the sort of stuff we should be getting in our sky subscription which is far from cheap. Instead PPV cards such as Clev Bellew 2, Brook Gavin and likely Joshua Whyte meant we have had mostly crap on sky this year.

The other fights you mentioned obviously much more damaging Sky have been ripping off boxing fans for two years now and making the sport less accessible. Was brilliant Framptons last two fights being on ITV and this would have been much bigger on there.

really hope this comes off and think both seem like good lads , no bad mouthing when they have met , the respect is there to be seen . said from the beginning that Quigg wins in a really tight contest .

Of course Hearn will make this PPV. His stance is clear on this: any fight involving a Brit fighting for a world title against another Brit or a half credible opponent is PPV "because it's impossible for me to make that fight otherwise" (code for I'm a greedy bastard and want to milk the fans for every penny I can). People need to just stop buying it otherwise it gets even worse.

Well I'm joining in the StubHub stampede and I'm going to make enough to cover my night out at the fight. If you can't beat them...

I'd say this is a better fight than Klitschko v Fury although I am looking forward to them both. IMO anyway.

Great news, and quite a surprise considering all the noise Barry has been making lately; but like said above, maybe the Gonzalez fight was a reality check, though the Mexican really did seem top-class & a likely future champion.
Plus the jackel seems a bit hamstrung with struggling at the weight, but being probably too short to move up and have the same effect ..

With Quigg's last performance this unification match is a good value PPV & i'll have no problem paying for this one. I just hope the cheapskate puts on a decent undercard

I think i'll try contacting one of the undercard fighters for tickets on this one. Not done it before but i'm sure they'll be a few trying to get rid of some tickets.

Looking forward to this one, I still favour Frampton slightly but I wouldn't be too surprised if Quigg wins, it is pretty evenly matched overall, which is what we want to see.
I don't mind it being PPV, I think it will be a more competitive main event than Wlad vs Fury or Brook vs Gavin and they are both a lot better p4p than Bellew or Cleverly.

For anyone travelling to this from London be aware Man United are at home to Arsenal that day so cheap trains will go quick!

If Bellew v Cleverly was PPV this is absolutely no doubt about it (from Hearn's viewpoint not mine). If the tickets are reasonably priced then as I live 45 minutes drive off I will be going.

Unification as Rigo is now 'champion in recess', but the winner might have to then face Rigo or be stripped.
