This will be an amazing fight, if Roman can easily KO Amnat I will be HUGELY surprised... Amnat is one of the few guys that I give chances to beat Gonzalez (Maybe even more than Estrada)

This is a nice consolation prize but I really don't see why they can't get Gonzalez/Estrada II made. It's the best flyweight fight possible right now and it's not like Estrada has anything else going on. Surely HBO has the pull to make it happen, it's not like flyweight purses are that huge.

The question is if HBO thinks that a flyweight fight can headline a card without a very solid co-feature.

Good fight. Gonzalez vs Ruenroeng for the WBC/IBF and then Gonzalez vs Estrada to crown an undisputed champion hopefully.

I think I read Gonzalez wants $1m for fighting Estrada but he's only been offered $500,000. So I guess that's why the Ruenroeng fight is being lined up.

The Estrada fight would probably be more exciting but this fight has just as much appeal to me as Ruenroeng is a very tidy boxer who moves well and is very tricky to catch.

Great fight. You can pick holes in the Thai all you want, but he's recently beaten Arroyo, Shiming, Ioka & Casimero; at least three of them would start the betting favourite against him, if I were laying odds.

Ruenroeng has a better chance than Estrada, imo, just based on styles.

Ahh ok , its crazy Lemieux got paid about the same if not more against GGG then what Gonzalez and Estrada would get combined.

Somebody needs to remind Gonzalez that he's a flyweight.

yes an execptional flyweight which is why he deserves exeptional purses.

$1.2m seems high. Gonzalez is super talented but is he really that big of a draw?

Flyweights don't deserve big purses. They simply don't pull in the numbers to warrant them. In mainstream USA flyweights generate barely more attention than female boxers do.

carbajal v gonzales was a big earner for both guys and well deserved, the smaller guys can do big numbers when promoted right, lopez, mcauley, magri, galaxy, matlala, carbajal and gonzales could all draw crowds, a good fighters a good fighter regardless of weight.

They may have drawn crowds, but tell me the last time you saw a Flyweight headline a PPV. It simply doesn't happen. The numbers Gonzalez is asking for do not add up.

I watched the Shiming vs Ruenroeng fight on HBO. Amnat is a slick boxer with a very good jab. He handled Zou well.
I would be really happy too see this fight. Ruenroeng and Estrada are the two best fight at 112 pounds for Chocolatito.

Ruenroeng would have a very significant height and reach advantage. Considering he can jab well, it would be a very difficult fight for Chocolatito.

In Japan most of the boxers that have success in the pro level are under the limit of 147 and most of them are between 105 to 135... In the US Flyweights dont draw.. its a fact so many years now, its sad but its true.

I.was mpre getting at the Japanese t.v. Numbers dwarf those of the US. Any fights gets 4,000,000 in the US it's a success, a fight can get 3 times that in Japan and be considered a disappointment. Shows how insignificant boxing is in the US

Its not insignificant did you forget that Mayweather vs Pacman did 4.4 million PPV buys and generated the most money ever?

I agree that boxing in Japan is more appreciated than it is in the US, Thats why they doing all those huge numbers, they support their fighters as a country.

And we got to my point that in the US Flyweights were never EVER Draws..
