Gavin Rees may have chinned cocky Anchondo

I mentioned a while back that American boxers are a little overrated in my opinion and British fighters with desire, talent and decent power can go over there and shake them up. Well, Gavin Rees scored an excellent stoppage win over Michael Muya on Saturday night and I couldn't help imagining how he would have fared with "Mighty" Mike Anchondo if their scheduled WBO interim title fight had gone ahead on July 15 in Dallas. Anchondo had predicted a one-round win over the Welshman. With that mindset, Rees would have definitely wiped the smirk off his face. He may have even chinned him.

theres no need to wank over rees yet, maybe he would of been to weak at super featherweight to hurt Anchondo, maybe he can get a shot at the WBO lightweight title.
you never know

I reckon his performance at the weekend had alot to do with frustration. He wouldn't have had that to draw on against Anchonado. It might have been a good fight but i'm not sure Rees would have won.

I suspect that Anchondo and Muya are leagues apart in terms of boxing ability and ambition.

Michael Gomez is hoping to fight the winner of Anchondo-Chacon.

It's a winnable fight for Gomez, especially if it could be put on over here, but why am i not surprised he's going down the WBO route.
