Not from what I hear. Puritty was considered then dropped.

Who could it be then. Its possible it could be Keith Long, Bakhtov or Kandelaki then seeing as they are with SN (meaning they are easy fights to make.)

use think matt wud beat keith long no probs??? keith is quite sturdy so might be a harder fight than expected if that came through....

I agree, I think Long would be Skelton's hardest test to date - I would tip Long to beat Sprott.

yeah wud be a good fight that,,,, only a matter of time i think maybe 3 or 4 more fights till matt gets beat,, ( depends if he steps the class up that is)
but think its great what hes done and wud love him to win a londsdale belt outright.

I don't know about when he will lose, Skelton would probably be the first to admit that he is green, but there are a lot of very poor heavyweights out there (even on the world scene). As poor as Skelton has been (especially against Francis and Sprott) I have seen equally poor efforts from fighters like the supposedly world class Jamel Mcline and several others.

I have to admire Matt attitude, times is not on his side, but unlike his more famous rival, he has been a man in a hurry. I would like this moment to continue - I would like him to have a bit of security with a lonsdale belt, so I really do hope that it is a British opponent he has next. If its a warm up for Audley, then I wouldn't blame him if its a non threatening opponent (i.e. Luke Simpkin) aslong as it is sanctioned as a title fight.

If the Ross Purity thing comes off, it will get him great exposure. I would like to see Skelton take on the likes of Charles Shufford soon.

I like Skelton. saw him fighting on an alex arthur undercard a while back and was quite impressed. like its already been said he'll admit he's green but then so is fraudley. difference is that while Skelton is green he's going out there and doing the business.

The only downside I can think of with Matt is that he may fall into the place that for a while Danny Williams occupied till Sam beat him, and a place i think maybe Howard Eastman now occupies ie too good domestically, too good on the commonwealth front, ahead of most on the european level but just not good enough for world titles.

Regardless though Im impressed with Skelton. makes a fresh change seeing a fighter actually keen to go and out make an impression, fight decent opposition for the stage in his career, and not bore us to tears with his "another step on the road to being world champion" crap.

He's not crap. He's seen better days, yes - but he's beaten plenty of good men in his time (Wladimir, Joe Hipp, Jorge Luis Gonzalez, drawn with Tommy Morrison) and been the distance with plenty others (including 12 rounds with Corrie Sanders).
In 50 fights, he's been stopped only twice - by Vitali Klitschko in 11 rounds and in an early career fight in 1989.

Skelton is a dinosaur and hasn't got long. Beating Purrity will gain him very little. And Skelton clearly isn't good enough for the top level, so he may as well get in there before he gets exposed by a lower level fighter.

It's not a bad match for a guy who still needs 'rounds' under his belt. Puritty should be able to stick around longer than Bob Mirovic.

Purrity has a name quality and most people seems to be misguided in thinking this is the same fighter that beat Klitchko (Purrity is alot slower than that these days). A win over Purrity will give Skelton a profile in the states, which is the next move. Purrity vs Skelton will be talked about in general forums.

The Purrity which lost to the younger Klit was awful. He did little more than hold a high guard and wait for wlad to punch himself out...anyone who has seen this knows that ross the boss has a solid beard but not much more...

He is certainly, say, no better than Bonin or Herschisia (sp)...who Audley was given little credit for facing...

I had it on pretty solid authority that Puritty hadn't worked out and they were reviewing a new list.
