Is Al Haymon spoiling the 'spectacle' of big fight nights??

For me, his staging area is too big and cumbersome, and not needed. The lack of an in-ring MC (especially for 12 round points decisions) means the crowd is pretty flat and the arenas are pretty much pitch black most of the time. Needs more raz-a-mataz in my opinion!

Agree, the atmospheres are so dull. Add this to all the catchweight BS, I can't say I'm a fan yet.

I recently heard something very bizarre which I don't know is true or not - but it's that the PBC have not only given away free tickets to their shows, but also use a company to provide what are essentially actors to sit in some of the first few rows and pretend throughout that they're having a great time. As ridiculous as may sound - the fact that Haymon is clearly targeting primarily the TV segment of the market as opposed to gates, maybe it is a valid marketing technique? After all, if people are flicking through channels and see boxing with empty seats and crowds motionless, it's a lot less appealing than seeing full venues and people enjoying themselves.

It's true, Google Carlos Acevedo (it's either on The Cruelest Sport or UCN) & "papering" or some combination thereof. Acevedo went straight to the companies who provide the pretend fans.

It's well known in wrestling that the fit women that are seated ringside at WWE shows are hired models/actresses.

The problem is that Haymon isn't the promoter. He hires someone like DeBella to be the name promoter, who gets a fee and has no interest in selling tickets as he's already got his fee and they are not his fighters. Often there are not even press conferences. On top of that, many fights are no even in areas where the boxers are from, so the fights get to zero media coverage locally.

Was sick of the rap music,mariach crap and entourages and buffer dragging it out and paper titles..this is classy but he badly needs his own belt and,ratings
