What's with Garcia's fighters?

Robert Garcia was on a run the last few years but it seems his top fighters always seemed to have weight problems. Even Garcia himself admitted he hated making weight for fights which is why he retired young.
Mikey Garcia: Couldn't make 126. Probably can't make 130 now. Will likely return at 140 and he's only 5'6"
Rios: Self explanatory
Maidana: Always makes weight for fight but balloons through the offseason.
Fernando Vargas: Self explanatory

I think Garcia as a trainer is overrated. Almost all his fighters are primitive plodders. Advise he gives in a corner is usually primitive too.

It's very unprofessional the way he runs his stable. I loved how Rios blamed Top Rank for his lack of activity. Be a damn professional already and suck it up. What has Rios done for over a year? I'm sure that he doesn't have a job on the side so he basically did nothing while his wife went to work.
I have a funny feeling that Rios is going to end up being a very sad story personally. Admittedly, he's not a stranger to trouble and what is he now going to do with his life. He could have stayed in shape and had a few more high paying fights to set him up for his life after boxing but he blew it. No way he's going to make this kind of money outside of the sport of boxing. It's sad to say but he's a ticking time bomb that will either be behind bars or worse when it's all said and done.

And that's what separates him from a top fighter. Can you see Bradley, Floyd, Ward, Pacquiao, or Froch crying after an 8 month layoff? Most of them took a year off and were fine.

Ward is not a good example. Can you imagine him taking on a top fighter right after his layoff ?

I wouldn't exactly place Ward in that batch of people that are ready to fight year round. I'd put Ward in the category of "what's currently wrong with boxing".
For the first time in many years, I'm fed up with the sport and contemplating spending my spare time a little more wisely. Aside from the Cotto/Canelo fight and POSSIBLY the Klit/Fury fight, is there another good fight in the works or scheduled? It seems like I've watched nothing but one sided fights the last few months. The trend in boxing now is to showcase the best fighters by putting them in with mediocre or worse opposition. I won't bore you with the list of fights we've had stuffed down our throats the last few months but I can't remember the last good fight I've watched.
Here we have a Welterweight division that is jacked with talent but none of them are signed to fight each other. How is that possible? You can't blame it ALL on the cold war between promoting arms. Each company contains boxers that could be matched up together for good fights. I've never seen anything like this? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!!! I hate to say it but there are 3 UFC cards coming up in the next few weeks that I will be watching because at least there, you have top contenders fighting each other to determine who's the best. Not a bunch of fighters fighting junk and being judged upon how badly they beat their pathetic opposition. That's all we can measure things by these days. Who beat Gabrielle Rosado the worst? Geale? Alexander?
The whole things broken and I'm tired of waiting for it to be fixed.

Totally agree.
Same guy who let Margarito go out there to possibly get killed, round after round.

He fought Dawson the same length of layoff (10 mos) Rios fought Bradley at.
