Theagenes Supposedly boxed over 1400 fights and was a boxing Olympic champion in their official history books. He also won track and field competitions involving running during the olympics.

Has their ever been a respectable boxer/long distance runner or something like that in modern times? I know Bronko Nagurksi was a great wrestler and football player but I want to know decent boxers who were decent at another very different sport or competition.

I know such no modern fighters

It's a bit specific and I can't do any Olympians...but several recent pro fighters have been outstanding at other sports.

Corrie Sanders; pretty much a scratch golfer and I think played in minor tour pro-ams.

Curtis Woodhouse; good-ish pro footballer and won a British title.

Sonny Bill Williams; outstanding two code rugby international (league and union) and has had bona fide pro fights as a heavyweight.

Anthony Mundine; maybe the most successful of the lot? Rugby League Star and bona fide world champion.

The half forgotten Mark Gastineau: NFL and heavyweight.

I think several other rugby union and league players have boxed in the pros and amateurs as well.

Mundine was a freak at his best and could have been a super-star if he leart his trade in amateurs and didn't play Rugby League :bag:
