Anyone see this show tonight?

I got in just in time to see the fight between Frank Galarza & Jarrett Hurd. What a great performance from Hurd. Never heard of the lad before but he was impressive. Very accurate & didn't look like he got out of 2nd gear. Another prospect in the very deep US Light-middle division.

The commentators were also purring over David Benavidez, an 18 year old Light Heavy (listed at Supermiddle on here), who moved to 11(10)-0 who a 1st round kayo (his 9th) against Felipe Romero who had beaten Julio Cesar Gonzalez twice & went 10 rounds with Mastermak.

I saw it. Tremendous performance from Hurd.

Benavidez and Derevyanchenko looked great too. Derevyanchenko stopped Jessie Nicklow in 3.

Also on the card Bermane Stiverne won a decision over Derric Rossy, and I believe Rossy dropped him in the 1st.

Benavidez was very impressive for an 18 year old.

Light heavyweight has a greater number of talented up-and-comers than any other division in boxing.

I just had a feeling Hurd was going to do work on Galarza.

They were hyping Galarza a bit and it looked like Hurd was going to have none of it.

Good coming out party for Hurd, and a defeat that hopefully the "Brooklyn Rocky" will learn and get better from.

And his brother is undefeated Interim WBA 2nd Interim intergalaxy interim super maybe superdooper WBA interim Light Welter Champion, Jose Benavidez - both trained by their dad. We could be seeing a new family dynasty emerge.

Funny, but when I started watching boxing back in the 70's, an 18 year old Light Heavyweight phenom would have been automatically talked about as being a Heavyweight title challenger. Not much chance of that these days.
