Good British title fight tonight that has dipped under the radar somewhat. Both class kids with decent amateur pedigree. Dickens defeat against Kid Galaghad a while back now has a big question mark next to it given Barry has since been banned for juicing. Who you got here and how?

No it was steroids mate. Not on TV no it's up Houghton Le Spring. Dickens a 2/5 jolly in the betting - seems about right but you can't sleep in Ward at 'home'.

Shame this isn't being streamed anywhere. Good scrap.

The same stuff that Ben Johnson was on - I am sure this would have a beneficial effect on a boxer in training.

Bit of an old school gear these days.

Dickens won a cracker via split decision. Dave Parris had Ward 4 rounds up at the eye. Ward hampered by cuts to both eyes. Very good fight. Dickens is quality. Juust hope Martin doesn't wrap as he clearly has more to offer the sport.

Great contest fought in gentlemanly manner by two genuinely nice lads. My brother Paul and me ( jazzas trainers ) have know and loved Martin since he was a kid and have so much respect for him and his family and his great supporters

I couldn't agree more. This fight was what small hall boxing is all about. A British title fight fought in front of a packed house, genuine respect shown by the boxers before and after the contest, 12 hard fought and even rounds, difficult to score and full of action, both of the fighters and their corners were a credit to the game. Unfortunately it will probably have passed under the radar. It reminded me of the classic brawls of the 1970s at the next weight up, of Les Pickett, Alan Richardson and Evan Armstrong. These two lads were as good and the fight was a mini classic. I was at ringside and loved every minute of it. Thomas P Ward also fought a good lad and he also looked in good shape.
