Danny Green broke down with a back injury training preparing for his fight with German Konni Konrad and it has forced the fight to be cancelled.

A 6 week back injury at 42 could well be the end of the road for Green.

On a lighter note, you can almost bet someone with nothing better to do will start with the "it's a fake injury" routine again

Nah ticket sales were slow and the PPV interest was non existent my sources tell me. Danny could sell the Bolonti farce after 3 years out but even his most gullible fans can see through the Konrad farce. This way he saves face of fighting in a empty venue by getting ''injured''.

Why are foxtel still prmoting this fight? I was watching Sky News this morning (Monday) and the advert for the Green v Konrad PPV was shown twice in 30 mins.

Perhaps someone should have a word with Foxtel as they seem to think it is still going ahead!

The thrashing Mundine copped at the hands of Hatley was only a week and a half ago. I seriously doubt he has made a decision to retire yet. Let alone also have notified Green's camp of the decision.

The most likely explanation of what has transpired is that Green is injured. But the conspiracy theorists have a track record of not readily accepting things that don't suit their agendas.

“Normally I would grit my teeth as I have done my whole career, persevering through preparation with broken noses, broken ribs, broken hands and a similar injury sustained before the BJ Flores fight in 2010, but there is simply too much at stake with the potential rematch with Mundine and other offers from Europe and the United States,” Green said.

The rematch with Mundine clearly at the forefront of Green's priorities and probably Mundine's as well after Hatley dished out some harsh reality to him.

They will be 47 and 45 when they get this on. Dodgy backs,hips,arthritis,eye injuries they sound like they should give it away. Danny pretending he has offers overseas again.

If Our Man and the Green Man ever get this on, due to their ages plus wear and tear, both will have to leave their Zimmer Frames by the ringside steps!

Green has explained in an interview with The Daily Telegraph that as a consequence of the back injury he pinged a hamstring and then later on did the back even worse.

Says he may reschedule the Konrad fight for early next year. But it won't effect the possibility of a rematch with Mundine.

Green loves to fight and has put a fair bit of effort into promoting the fight. Why oh why would he fake an injury and let down the people who pay him his fans? Or even the people on the undercard who i am sure he would be friends with.
This is how he makes money and a step closer to mundine so why would he fake it.

bad ticket sales indeed. Yeah he is likely to have only sold 1000 tickets to an event....... Mate green could host a farting contest and still fill a venue. The dude is a household name to 22 million people with a fairly staunch following of 550000 fans and growing. Do you even think before you type?

If green says he is injured what possible reason has he ever given you to doubt him? His pride would be hurting as much as his back right now. Have you ever had to pull out of a fight you have trained months for? I have and it sucked! You just wouldn't do it by choice.

Fight is OFF. What's the point going on & on & on about it??

Scotearly Due to past events there is many reasons not to believe Mr Green. I will leave it at that.
