Where would you rank him? Or you wouldnt at all?

I would rank him around #5 to #8 after the clear victory against Cotto, definately a huge boost for his resume.

The victory was not so impressive, and Cotto wasn't in top 10 p4p, so I don't think Canelo's position changes much. Somewhere between #9 and #12.

Is there a special place on the list for dudes who never fight anyone their own size because they're great big scaredycat weightdrainy coward fvks who aren't very good at boxing and cant stomach the thought of taking on an even match in size terms?

Stick Canelo in that place. And that Santa Cruz pudendum with him.

Alvarez fkin sucks. Fvck Alvarez. He's the most technically-limited supposed-star I have seen in, fvkcing, I don't know, id have to think about how long. I've never thought a single thing about him in any of his fights but, 'oooh he's a big strong bugger next to his opponent isn't he?'

Cotto beat a crippled Martinez that was #4 P4P at them time though, Cotto Was easily a Top15 P4P fighter, beating such a guy along with his past performances against VERY TOUGH opposition (Lara) for me puts him to something more thn just #12.. And the victory was QUITE impressive because he made Cotto miss BIG (cotto landed just 21%) and he improsed his will and toughness.. anyways everyone has his own opinion so I can understand if u think otherwise.

Well if the delusional scorecards he always seems to get are any indication of his P4P ranking, I'd say he just changed the model forever. You heard it here first folks, Pound for Pound #0. He is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning.

Just kidding around, still too much knob gobbling going on but he's obviously top notch. I'd really rank him around 8-10

1-5 are like rigo, gonzales, ward, ggg and kovalev in no particular order

6-10 are like crawford, pacquiao, canelo, lara and lomachenko

so, since lara easily schooled the slow canelo, lara is much better than canelo, lara is around 6-7 on my list, canelo is somewhere around 8.

dont let the cotto win fool you, canelo is slow and hittable. lara technicle outworks him, ggg crushes him into pieces. canelo is no top 5 material.

If he is top 10- and I am not saying he is- it's probably the last slot.

This site has him #1 which just is not accurate at all.

By way of contrast, Ring doesn't even have him in the top 10 while also listing
a guy with less on his resume- Kell Brook- at 10th.

Go figure.

I have Canelo at number 5.

I'm not very high on Canelo. Winky Wright would have shut him out at 154. It wouldn't even be competitive.

it would certainly be an interesting contest to see who exactly would try to find the best way of not doing enough to take the fight

I would put him after Klitschko, Gonzalez and GGG. His wins trump Kovalev just about.

People are going to rank him lower than GGG even though he has beaten far better competition than Golovkin and that is sad.

I'd say he sits at #4 based on the competition he has victories over, sure they will argue that he didn't deserve the win over Lara or Trout but not one fighter has blown him away and he has faced tougher competition in his 40 plus fights than Julio Cesar Chavez JR has faced in his first 80 plus fights.

He meant Chavez Sr. Some people are so preoccupied with resumes, that they aren't even asking a question like who would win between two fighters.

Not until he actually beats Canelo, Saul has fought the far better competition and has beaten them so there's no way you can compare their resumes and place GGG ahead of him without them having fought yet.

Once he beats Saul then he will be ahead rightfully.

I must be hallucinating but I think I see Canelo's name at the top of BocRec's attest P4P list! There is no doubt in my mind that he's a top notch boxer/puncher. He beat Cotto cleanly. But P4P?? He's has a few guys ahead of him in this line: Roman Gonzalez, GGG, Crawford, Vlad and others. he may get there one day bit this is not the day.
