Will you give Wladimir Klitschko credit and respect if he defeats Tyson Fury?

Fury is an age 27, very confident, undefeated 6'9" heavyweight. He has an 85" wingspan, much of it in his long arms.

Klitschko is approaching his 40th birthday, is 6'6". He has an 81" wingspan, proportionally more of it in his shoulders rather than his shorter 26" arms.

If Wlad beats Fury, will you recognize it as a good win for the aging heavyweight champion?

Absolutely. Vlad is in for a much tougher night than people think, the fight will speak for itself.

Why wouldn't anyone give him credit? Fury's a top contender, to not say the top contender, and Wlad is 38.

It's the lowest Wlad betting line in 9 yrs so people expect it to be tougher than usual. Even tho it wont be. He will win easily.

Nevin Pajkic dropped Fury. He also got knocked down hard by Steve Cunningham, who is a cruiser. What do you think Klitschko is gonna do to him?

Why do people think the result of this fight is some great mystery? Wlad can drop Fury with jabs. Fury hasnt fought a top 10 heavyweight for Christ sake. There's no Povetkin or Jennings or even Pulev on his resume. His best win is over a blown up cruiser.

With thinking like that, it's a wonder why they even fight. Cheers

I'll give him respect because I always have.
He is a great and dominant fighter with a good, if not spectacular, resume.
He has beaten the best in his division and can only fight whats put in front of him, it's not his fault he is in a relatively weak weight class.

Will he get any extra credit for the Fury win?
Not really. It'll go down as a solid win in a fight I expect him to win. Fury poses challenges that Wlad has never faced and asks some questions of him. It wont be an easy night I shouldn't think but he should come through it.
If anything he'll come through with less credit if he wipes him out because the haters will tell us Fury was always just a crude over hyped bum....

Yes, he's always fought the best guys out there and Fury is one of the best right now, I think Vlad will win very easily but that's not his fault.

i think this is a boxing match and not
a reaching contest. you might be a little
exaggerating the importance of reach.

Certainly and he'll deserve big credit too. As of the present, Wlad has already done away with Povetkin, Pulev, Thompson & Chagaev - all are highly ranked guys. Tyson Fury is currently ranked 3rd in the BoxRec world rankings, he's the highest ranked challenger who Wlad has never fought, in addition he's bringing an unbeaten record in to this fight. Certainly, Fury has waited for his chance and now he's got it.

I don't see how anyone could have voted no. Regardless of what you think about Fury's antics and crazy opinions, he's an undefeated HW with some ability. He ain't no Mormeck or Pianetta.

Wlad, like Floyd, is someone I admire greatly for their skills in the ring but I'm not that interested in watching as I generally find their bouts dull.

But I don't think I'm the reason they're in boxing so I don't think they'll be too worried about my view :DD

I do think Wlad should have too much experience for Tyson this weekend though.

I've managed to convince myself that Fury is winning, so yeah, Klitschko gets a ton of respect for me if he grabs a W.

Tyson is going to be his toughest test yet, I think the question should be, will Tyson Fury get the credit he deserve when he wins?

I think Wlad will drop Fury hard and early but Fury will come back into it before getting KO'd late on.

Regardless of how much hugging Klits does one would still have to give him credit if he beats Fury.

Wrong
Pulev was boxrec number 2 when wlad beat him. Chagaev was also very high after wlad and vitali

I pretty much have defended Klitschko for some time, saying that he is a top ten heavyweight. If he beats Fury, who is probably the best opponent/threat he has faced since Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster, at 39 years old then you may as well accept the fact that he is going to shatter Joe Louis's record. Not Wilder, not Joshua, not anyone will beat him if Fury cant. And thats saying alot considering Fury is so big and mobile and fast for being 250+ pounds and undefeated and ambidextrous.

I'm pretty sure he'll be retired before AJ is in that position, he could have one more against Wilder and then call it a day, that would be a great send off if he could unify all the belts.

When, not if he beats Fury.

Klitschko already has my credit (not that he cares I'm sure!).

I'll gladly give the winner respect. Wlad has been a great champion. I ignore all the whining people do about boring styles, which seems to be his main criticism. If you don't like "boring" styles don't watch.

I'm not exaggerating it, I'm just pointing it out because Klitschko's haters like Teddy Atlas say he only wins because of his reach.

Exactly.

Wlad is going to land hard and clean early. Fury has no skill.
What makes someone think Fury can take 20+ right hands from Wald?
