Eddie Hearn stated he had some 'big news' coming next week re: GG and a show in Jan/Feb next year - any idea as to who he's going to be fighting?

Callum Smith? Makes financial sense, both fighters would want it I think, as Smith would increase his 'name' with a win over Groves, and Groves could catapult himself back into a position to get another shot at Badou Jack?

Martin Murray? Can't see the sense in this myself, can't really see any way Murray wins unless Groves has really gone off the boil, and not really much to gain?

I can't see groves taking the Callum smith fight it's far to risky, groves needs a couple of tune up fights get his confidence back up everything is up in the air with him at the minute.

Can't see why hearn would risk his talent against groves at this stage.

Personally, i don't see why hearn gives groves so much effort. He doesn't spark any extra interest for me

Perhaps Groves vs Fielding.

Both need a bounce-back win to get confidence up, and I think both will see it as winnable.

Think they'll put Goves in a tune up bout on the Jan 30th bill then after that he fights Rocky or Murray before another world title shot. Who is going to train him though?

Wouldn't surprise me - British boxers are queuing up to fight him in the hope that he will have got old for their fight.

Perhaps, but what was asked is what would give Rocky the encouragement to believe he could win.

I wonder if Groves could be in for a title shot against Ward? - he would be cheap enough to bring over to America and I'm sure that he would jump at the chance of another World Title shot.

If he beats either of these he goes onto Abraham next...

Ward was stripped wasn't he? Besides, he campaigns at light heavy anyway now, doesn't he?

I still think he should have considered signing a short term deal with Fr@nk W@rren, fighting Frank Buglioni in London on B0xNati0n then facing Chudinov for his WBA Title...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me. These days boxing seems to move at such a brisk pace. Things change practically from week to week. I'm finding it hard to keep track of everything.

Aye, but will he stay there? I wouldn't be so sure. Ward seems like the Floyd type to me. He'll be absent for a while, let other fighters build their own stock up a bit, then come back in and beat them handily. Which thereby increases his own reputation in the boxing world. I think that's more likely to happen than him fighting Kovalev or Stevenson.

No one reckon he might be moving up to light-heavy?

The Smith camp have been chasing Groves for ages, really want to see it.

He has been hurt numerous times by fighters of varying quality, and has hit the canvas more than once, I'm sure Rocky would feel like he is only one good punch away from getting the win.
Of course I would still make Groves the favourite, but Rocky would have nothing to loose and that would make him dangerous.
