This week Martin Murray joined the club of Groves, Fielding and Buglioni on the British Super Middleweight scrapheap.

Murray, Groves and Buglioni all lost decisions in world title challenges, while Fielding ran into a good 'un at British level.

What next for these guys? Groves still has the Froch performances, support of Sauerland and a rivalry with DeGale to fall back on, but what about Murray, Fielding and Buglioni? None of these guys could really be picked against even the weakest of champions, so what do they do? Lower their ambitions and fight each other at British level to headline a few regional shows or should they all try to rebuild separately against lower level opposition?

with mention of scrapheap, there's got to be a Rainham Steel gag someone could get in there, somehow.

Well seen as you mention it, I wouldn't mind seeing Groves V Murray and Fielding V Buglioni. Both would be good scraps although the latter won't get made. Winners can go again.

I think it's a bit insulting to Murray and Groves to put them in a club with Buglioni and Fielding, neither of which are remotely close to world level IMO. At least Murray and Groves earned their stripes for a world title tilt, Frank and Rocky would get destroyed by Martin or George IMO.

Buglioni should of never got a title shot and shouldn't of been in the top 15 of any of the organisations.he hasn't even proved his self at English or British level drawn with Markham and lost to Khomitsky you should be beating guys like this easy if your ever going to get to world level.

100% agree - Murray has shown in every title fight he deserves to be there. He cost himself against Abraham and had he kept the tempo up more he could have won that. Groves likewise has talent and has a big punch but just seems to be doing the same as Murray - i.e. failing to see that you have to do more to win a title than to keep it. Neither is just a domestic level like the others.

I am guessing that Groves v DeGale is still very marketable; George has the head-to-head win but James has got the belt and the better record now.

Whether James will entertain it remains a moot point and with all sorts of permutations.

- Revenge the loss, finally settle the debate in your favour and take a very decent pay cheque?
- Or just move onto bigger challenges and leave Groves in your slipstream and rescue his career by fighting someone else?

I've got inkling that James can live with that loss - its almost ancient history - and has his sights set elsewhere.

Not on the scrapheap but throw in Blackledge and Jamie Cox and theres some really good domestic scraps to be made.

Rocky would need to show some METTLE
And Frank would need balls of STEEL for this scrapheap challenge!!!!

Groves next fight is at the COPPERbox

Yes, Jan 30, Sauerland show.

Think Groves vs Murray would be a good fight and a good opportunity for the winner to get themselves back on track.

Both need a proper win to earn another title shot. Groves' best win was 4 and a half years ago and despite never disgracing himself against Sturm, Martinez, Golovkin or Abraham I'm not even sure who would be considered Murray's best win?

apparently Murray vs. P.Smith is signed for April next year.
Probably a co-main on a Liverpool card I would imagine.

I'm sure Camp Eddie said something about Callum Smith having another Liverpool headlining fight in April, a couple of weeks back.

Groves is so chinny now, I wouldn't fancy him against any the Super Middles mentioned on this thread.

As much as i'm happy to see P.Smith vs Murray. I would much rather see P.Smith vs Fielding and Groves vs Murray.

I think you mean Callum Smith because Groves already took care of Paul and would do so again, not as convincingly mind, could be a good un.

I think Callum will beat Groves by sheer speed and aggression but Rocky vs Groves is a 50/50 at this current moment all things considered from both these guys
