If Fury Wins...

Will Klitschko be discredited?

Or will people say age finally caught up to him?

Will your opinion change on his worth?

Or will you not look at the potential loss as that much of a detraction from his legacy?

If Klitchko doesn't beat a bum like Fury by anything other than KO it will put yet another serious question mark over his standing as a great.

I dont necessarily understand the "bum" comment, considering Klitschko has never fought a man quite like Fury before. Even Klitschko has remarked that this will be a challenge, and that he hasn't been challenged in years. A man nearly seven feet tall, who is a switch hitter, who has damn good speed, and who is awkward--- hard to figure out--- is something Klitschko will have issues with. Maybe Fury hasn't fought the same depth of opposition as Klitschko, but the fact of the matter is there probably isnt a man that Klitschko has fought in the passed five or six years that Fury couldn't also have beaten.

The lone exception may be David Haye, but the two pull out's are an indicator (at least to me) there was something in Fury that Haye didn't like. Willing to face Klitschko, but not for Fury. An interesting thought. Recently I watched "Tactics" with Johnny Nelson talking to both men about what they may or may not do on the 28th, and Klitschko's answer was that every fighter has something that they will always return back to. Klitschko feels his best chance is to pressure Fury when he's southpaw, and then catch him when Fury is switching back to orthodox.

Fury's mindset is, if he's southpaw and leaning away from shots, Klitschko has no choice but to come in at mid-range or close and Fury will come over the top. Fury's mindset, also, is to come in close--- head first---- force Klitschko to throw the power left hook, and beat him to the punch with uppercuts. As fast as I have seen Fury throw shots in the past, its plausible he will do so. And for as much talk as people make about Fury having a weak chin, he's proven he has the resistance and recooperating powers to get back up to win. Klitschko, on the other hand, has a weak chin and it takes him longer to recover.

I think Fury's awkwardness, being so big and fast and gifted in speed--- makes up for the fact that he hasn't fought quality opponents like Klitschko has. It puts them on an even playing field. And again, as stated before, the best men Klitschko has fought: Byrd, Brewster, Thompson and Haye--- are either too small, too limited, or weren't as all-around skilled as Fury. The only one who I think would have defeated Fury would have been Sanders, and even Klitschko never avenged that loss. So no one knows if he would have ever figured out a fast hard hitting southpaw.

Fury is a basket case with a defense that needs a lot of work but he is certainly no bum. He has a good jab, good stamina, works the body well, and this is addition to his natural gifts of reach and height.

Klitschko has all to loose and little to gain by fighting Fury. Majority of fans dont rate him. He doesn't have a dazzling physic, a murderous punch or a great CV. So in the short term if K looses it will damage his legacy. In the long term it might change if Furys proves to be a good champion.

Fury's a bum who got outboxed by McDermott.

Look at his record:

Hammer: 6ft 2, 188cm reach. Not a big puncher.

Chisira: 6ft 1, feather fisted. Lost 4 out of 5 fights.

Joey Abell: Not even ranked in top100

Steve Cunningham: A cruiserweight. Consider Fury a super-hw you got the equivelent of a 2 weightclassgap. Put Fury flat on his back.

Kevin Johnstone: A heavybag.

Vinny Maddalone: not ranked in top 100

Martin Rogan. Preferred to David Price because Price is a Super HW who can punch... is it clear enough to everyone that this isn't the preferred matchmaking of team Fury? A retired taxi driver half Fury's size is ideal match.

Nevan Pajkic: A nobody who dropped Fury.

Fury's entire career so far has been built on fighting smaller men who are effectively a weight class below. His matchmaking has a very cleary modus operandi: smaller men who can't punch.

He took 1 look at Ustinov at the weigh in and his team pulled him out... can't have him face a live opponent of similar size i guess.

He dropped his titles rather than face the 6'7 huge punching David Price. He could have got one up on Price after he list to Thompson by taking that fight..... but Thompson is a super heavy with decent pop. Best fight a Cruiserweight instead then.

It's laughable this bum is even getting a shot at Klitchko without ever beating a fellow contender. He's been careful matched and hyped up because he's packing glass. First spiteful shot Wlad lands it's over.

Mismatch.

Sorry but Fury is a bum.

If Klit doesn't beat him it would be quite embarrassing.

I cant believe how many people who think Fury has a real chance in this fight. I mean holy hell, are you kidding me?

No one has gotten near it in like 10 years. Pulev is 6'7. Did he get near it?

Sorry but Fury is not a bum. If you think he's a bum, I'd be interested to hear some more of your boxing definitions to see if you're ignorant across the board or just when it comes to the word bum.

Klitschko is the massive favorite and will win. But Fury is no bum.

Were on the same boat i think this fight is a joke either way.

Klit should beat him easly but if he does get cracked and put away it would be an even bigger joke.

Oh so your telling me Klits chin isn't a weakness?

Are you also implying that khan doesn't have a weak chin?

Please enlighten me.

So the guy calling Fury a bum also started a thread about how great Keith Tapia looked stopping a mediocre opponent who has beaten no one of consequence.

I didn't say it wasn't a weakness, though that is very overstated by his detractors.

I think it would be pretty self explanatory to anyone who has even a little knowledge of boxing, physics, getting punched, etc, but I'll explain anyway to help you along your way.

1. Amir Kahn got sparked out cold in one round; Wlad has never been sparked out cold ever.

2. Amir Kahn falls at the brush of a mosquitoes wing; Wlad has only ever been down from big punches by heavy handed sluggers. (Re-watch the Brewster hook or any of the Sanders shots. Not a lot of guys gonna stay up from those.)

This is boxing. People get knocked down. If Wlad's chin was as bad as you wish and make believe, he wouldn't be riding a 22 fight win streak over the last 11 years while fighting the top competition available.

Hope this helps :TU:

The guy has been stopped in all of his losses and has been down several times.

When he gets tagged he freezes up and quickly resorts to his 1-2 clinch-grab rinse and repeat.

He's obviously not the same fighter he's improved his defense but that doesn't mean his chin is improved hes just done a better job of avoiding big shots.

Dont matter how you try and spin it klit has a weak chin its been proven several times just like Amir khan.

Oh and by the way champ i have been hit and i have boxed as an amateur. Did it for 8 yrs i can tell you personally how hard Nonito hit me when we were teenagers sparring.

Been there done that how about you?

Not sure it's as clear cut as he has a weak chin. Sanders was bouncing him off the floor, but he is a big puncher and Wlad was dealing with his pressure terribly ( basically coming straight back at him )
He gassed big time in his other two losses. Worth noting that Fury can set a decent pace, Wlad never figts at anything like a high pace. I think this is where Fury's chances lay.

I wouldn't say he has a weak chin as such, with only Sanders really smashing it to bits ( even then he didn't put him away )

At Wlad's age anything could happen though. He could be past it and Fury could be the one to benefit.

Best Wlad vs the best we have seen of Fury will see Tyson knocked out within 4/5 rounds.

The issues with Fury is he and his camps refusal to fight any decent heavy of any size and power. People say Wlad has yet to face anything like Fury, it's not as if Fury has faced anything even remotely resembling Wlad!

Gonna be interesting. I hope Fury can pull it off

If Fury wins (which I can't see happening) do you think he'll give Wlad a rematch?

I'm sure there is a clause in the contract where he has to i read.

I expect Klitschko to win by late KO but i think Fury will have a lot of early success in a good fight! Fury does look in the shape of his life though for this fight so there can't be no excuses.

No option of Fury maybe getting some credit and proving his critics wrong?

This is a no win for Fury.

I give him a slim chance in this bout, although he's a big underdog, I wouldn't be amazed if he managed a win.

Could he beat him twice? I would be amazed.

Joe Louis was also dropped several times, so tell me again how weak his chin was? Ali was dropped by two guys who'd be light heavies today, so tell me again how weak his chin was?

Klitschko doesn't have the best chin, but it's not weak. Not even close. David Price has a weak chin. I hope now you can see the difference now.

I fought as an amateur boxer and mixed martial artist for six years. I never sparred with Nonito though, but then again I haven't been a 120 pound midget since I was about 8 years old :TU:

Good luck with that chump.

No my friend, little tiny people with big tempers like you get "fuucked up BADLY".

But it's all cool tough guy; this is the internet where you can safely talk smack and make ignorant comments.

Now you have a great day! Try not to let meaningless internet conversations rile you up so much. It's bad for your health.
