Fury is still 27 years old, he can still learn SO MANY! And as he improves his skills he can improve his conditioning to a level where people will stop saying he is fluffyy and has a bad body.. Till then I hope he continues his reign as THE heavyweight champion of the world! Go Fury!

..aren't some of us too quick to jump on Tyson's bandwagon?...an underdog yesterday and the great HW champ today?...what shall we discuss tomorrow: maybe his ATG status?...I say give him time, say 5 more years, ideally when he'll be pushing 40 and see how he fares then ...having said that, I certainly agree that Tyson did a great job OUTBOXING the champ, making him look old and helpless...

In terms of boxing for a guy that turned pro early 27 is young. He can still develop himself, Not just experience..

with bigger paydays he might bring in conditioning coaches and
dieticians and the like, but boxers definitely can improve in their
late 20's technically and add punches and defensive maneuvers
to their repertoire, and certainly fix bad habits. pac added punches
to his arsenal and improved technique and all other aspects of his
game in his late 20's under roach. many other examples of that.
you can keep learning in your 80's, theoretically.

A tall order, indeed. Of course beating Wlad was a tall order too. Fury is so raw in my eyes, but yet big and game, so I will give him his props for now. Knock out Wilder? I really doubt it the way his wide arm punches are. Wilder and Joshua have real power, but even they are still relatively untested. To me looking forward, I hope Fury beats Wlad in the rematch so we can see the new generation of heavys unfold.

we are on a boxing forum, basically couch
potatoes with a smart ass attitude. at least
we have to make some predictions and not
just reflect on the past. i for one have no
idea how tyson will turn out. i think i am
too easily fooled by great physique and
lack thereof. what i can say is that he has
more heart, determination and speed than
wlad. will he be a great champ? no idea,
but he will be at least be a very entertaining
one, a media darling all over the world. if he
reigns for more than two years you will see
him all over the places. teaching boxing to
small kids in china, having a singing duet
with adele. it will be fun to watch.

who cares about ATG? the klitschkos are
history and from now on they will have the
most controversial rankings in boxing
history. i for one always liked them, yet i
am happy it is over. i didn't like wlad's
style and i didn't like that for a decade the
two best heavies in the world wouldn't fight
each other. whatever, it is over. wlad won't
come back from this. he was utterly clueless
and tyson, now knowing he doesn't have to
fear him, will knock him out.

i don't know. back in the day ali was
called an old man when he fought at
31 against foreman. nowadays we
pretend a 27 year old is a young man.
he isn't. he is full blown and close to
his prime in my opinion.

yes fighters changed styles, cotto
turned from a body puncher into a
head only fighter. floyd mayweather
became more agressive (before he
became more defensive again). but
that is all to me more changing styles
due to trainers and some personal
choices than "learning". exception
btw is wlad who learned how to avoid
getting hit by borderlining on the rules
of boxing.

if you see tyson fury now and in three
years, you will basically see the same
fighter. and the opposite of "learning"
can happen too. he doesn't seem to be
a gym rat and the distractions of media
attention could very well make him be
a little reluctant to do boring conditioning
work.

fury will knock wlad out. i think wilder
is a tough opponent, but i believe he
could be exposed as a fighter with not
much heart. compared to him fury is a
seasoned veteran when it comes to
good opponents.

joshua is my bet. he seems a rock solid
boxer to me. the three of them could
make very interesting matchups. we
might very well enter right now a great
period with exciting bouts.

Fury is ahead of Wilder on good opponents, granted, but if you can count good opponents on one hand, I wouldn't call any boxer a seasoned veteran. Wlad set a new record for all time fewest punches thrown per round in a championship fight. That tells us something. Wlad had been fading, so we can't blame it on getting old over-night. Fury's awkward style had a lot to do with the low punch output, so I do give Fury credit for the win. He earned the spot where he is. I just don't think he will stay there for very long.

exactly. that's why i added the phrase
"compared to him ..."

Whats Fury said before his recent game against Wlad was "We’re heading for a new year, a new era and a new heavyweight champion.” SO what he say, he keeps his words and proves himself that he is a champion. So in my view every champion learn something from a fight, and hopefully Fury will get more popular.
