I've not seen Barroso fight but if he punches as hard as his record suggests i would say he wins by stoppage,Mitchell has had a lot of wars over the years and last time out won't have done him much good, just a guess but i say Barroso.

I agree. I don't think this fight goes the distance.

Wouldn't dream of putting money on Mitchell these days.

If he does win it, the guff will be flowing about how he's one of the most deserving 'world' champs out there and has been a hard working grafter of the sport.

That'll really grind my gears!

Yeah it's widely known he's not always been the most dedicated but he's a talented fighter none the less. I thought he had Linares and I was pretty gutted he never saw him off. I can't see Mitchell beating Crolla at this stage in their careers to be honest. A couple of years ago I would've bet a months wage on Mitchell against Crolla but times have changed. Crolla has peaked and found another gear and Mitchell is probably on his last chance. I still think it would be a good fight right enough.

I heard a respected boxing writer in the States who has seen Barroso fight describe him as being like a Lightweight version of Ricardo Mayorga who throws hard punches from unorthodox angles. If that's the case then I don't think this will end well for Mitchell.

Barroso is a bit of a unknown. saw some clips of him on youtube and he can really dig. just think Mitchell's experience and level of opposition will be too much for Barroso and will stop him mid-late rounds.

Thats a good comparison to be fair, he is unorthodox although he does have this habit of dancing up and down on the spot just before he goes into hard combination mode, although 17 guys have failed to be able to do anything about it, so I guess it's not an issue.

Mitchell would almost certainly have dispatched Barroso's 17 ko's as well and I think they may well have all ended inside the full route for Kevin as well but certainly not as explosively.

It's a tough fight for both men and will end with a ko for one or the other. It's not a fight I would like to choose a winner off to save my life that's for sure.

If Barroso is wild the Kevin will keep him on his jab and stop him ala John Murray.

He's talented but no more so than many other fighters from this country who have got to European level and then lost at fringe world.

Definitely think Crolla and a few other lightweights would beat him now.

Interesting fight.

How much does Mitchell have left? Is there substance to Barroso or does the fancy record flatter him? There aren't many results that would surprise me here...

I'm still hoping that Mitchell lives up to the potential he should as an amateur.

He's been a silly lad in regards to having a professional attitude but he appears to be focused now. Linares was by far the best opponent he's fought & he did very very well.

As long as he's careful against Barroso in the early rounds he should stop the Venezuelan in the 3rd quarter.

Havent seen Barroso, just remember himn scheduled to fight Derry a wee while back, definitly has an interesting record though.he can punch but can he take one? Im not sure about Mitchell's abilty to come out on top on any more wars, especially when they get into the later stages but Kevin has serious power too so hopefully he lets Barroso feel it before getting blowed out

I have this feeling Barroso is going to smash Mitchell.

Hope I'm wrong I enjoy watching Kev fight and want to see him fight Crolla. However that will most certainly be a PPV fight if it happens you watch.

I've had a quick look at barroso now and agree with Naandrew, mitchell for me has had too many wars, especially last time out and i think barroso will just be too much for him at this late stage of his career.
