How does Khan rank in the 147 division?

I strongly believe that Khan is a serious contender in the 147 division. His boxing style has given everyone who he has faced problems. With the recent departure of Mayweather and with Pacquiao looking to close his reign very soon who else is there to carry the torch. I have narrowed it down to Khan and Thurman. Between the two of them one is capable to be the best fighter in the 147 division. I feel that Khan beats all of the fighters in the current division, although he has a lot to work on. With Virgil Hunter, I feel that Khan can emulate the success and style of stable mate Andre Ward. Big things for Khan soon...

I personally think Brook/Pacman/Thurman/Provodnikov all beat Khan at 147 - because they all can punch! We know Khan isn't the greatest at 'not getting hit' and we also know his chin is awful. All the guys i've mentioned can KO Khan in my opinion, but I agree Virgil Hunter can get the best out of Khan, he needs to work on his defense and then maybe he has a good chance in taking in this division ( a division that has so many top boxers.)

He still hasn't been tested at Welter and his inactivity over the last couple of years have hindered him.
The Khan brook fight looks likely for next summer. Got a feeling Brook is getting him at the right time.

Based on his last fight, I would rank him right above Algieri, where ever he is ranked since it was a very close fight. Guys I think would beat him in 140-147 are Thurman, Pacquiao, Porter, Spence, Crawford, Matthysse, Garcia, and Provo. I think he fights much closer with Brook, Bradley, and Broner. Even Imam would probably take him out early, but if not Khan beats him.

After losing to Danny Garcia 3+ years ago, Khan has not stepped in the ring with the type of opponent who would erase that KO from our minds.
Everyone at 140-147 has been calling him out. EVERYONE!!! But still nothing.

I understood the momentum behind him before the Maidana fight. After watching that fight, against such a basic version of Maidana (the same one Devon Alexander schooled) I knew Khan was severely overrated, in the sense that he was not a top fighter.

Whatever though, it seems Khan is being forced into a fight with Brook (who Khan has been ducking) so the end is near.
But, Kell can have off nights though, we've seen it.

But he is a loss waiting to happen. He is the one fighter who just drives me nuts. He has an over inflated value of himself that I have never seen. A definite narcissist who will remembered more for his losses then any accomplishments he has attained.

think khan has lost a lot of his power when was his last ko.2011-07-23 140 Zab Judah, older he gets slower he gets , and what are you judging youre talk on, if he faces porter,Thurman, brook,Garcia,Bradley. he loose all of them fights for me .because i feel all of them have the speed ,foot work, power to take him out, i dont think khan can bang them out one time to win, they will walk him down and stop him,or make him trade and ko him.

Pacquiao, Brook, Bradley, Garcia, and Thurman belong above Khan beyond any reasonable doubt. Porter and Peterson are both possibly better than Khan, although Peterson's case has been falling apart in the past 3 years, while Porter's case remains strong.

How does Garcia unequivocally rate higher then Khan at WW? He was in close fights with Herrera and Peterson recently that could easily have gone either way and doesn't have 1 top 15 win on his WW resume.

The guys clearly above Khan are Pac, Brook, Bradley, Thurman and Porter. So Khan is 6th for me and we be getting about $10 million to get knocked out by Brook in the summer.

Khan never had power, he used to throw so many punches that it surprised his opponent and when your not ready and don't see the punch coming you don't brace yourself and so the punch does more damage compared to when you tense your muscles ready for the punch as it lands.

3 years ago at a different weight, would you rank Alexander above Maidana?

That's right. Unequivocally, mothaf*cka. He knocked out Khan, schooled Matthysse, beat Khan's other conqueror Peterson, and he hasn't even lost to anyone ever.

Garcia KO'd Khan, beat Peterson (the other most recent guy to beat Khan), and schooled Matthysse (the next highest ranked guy in the division at the time). I would rank Alexander above Maidana if Alexander KO'd Maidana, beat Maidana's other most recent conqueror (Mayweather), also beat the next highest ranked guy in the division (Pacquiao), and was undefeated. Are you telling me that you wouldn't rank Alexander above Maidana if Alexander was undefeated, KO'd Maidana, beat Mayweather, and schooled Pacquiao?

alexander was always a better boxer then Maidana, but when you get a street fighter who wants to win with all his heart he will stop most boxers

He's also never faced a top 15 WW ever, "mothaf*cka", got lucky against Peterson and Herrera but is apparently a top 3-5 WW

This isn't about who beats who its about who has a better resume at the weight to earn a higher ranking. What is it you don't understand?
