I'm a long-time opponent of Sky Sports (greedy business model) but I am a fan of Matchroom and what Eddie Hearn is doing for boxing. I wonder if there's scope for Matchroom to show their fights live online for Fight Pass members as well as Sky?

FP is £30 a year and I'm about to sign up regardless, but I would be happy to bypass Sky and go direct with Matchroom for fight nights. They could even set up a PPV system if they must.

I agree they serve up loads of 50/50 fights & never screw the punters so lets pay them more out instead!

I would imagine they could get consent for certain older fights, way down the line - but selling them outside of the sky format would likely be very much off limits.

It would be more of an archive, than current match-ups.

What's the difference? 30 a month and you can only watch online? I'd rather pay for Sky and watch on TV and have the Football etc.. They are a bit of a piss take though but Matchroom are just as guilty as Sky.

If in some imaginary world where this would be allowed by Sky, I'm sure FightPass would jump to about £25 a month.

Or an alternative idea, how about FP free via Sky on Demand for Sky Sports customers?

Do fight pass even show fights anymore? To me, it just seems like it is good for ticket touts!

Yeah its got like that. When i first signed up they were showing 10 live fight nights exclusive on FightPass, They were going to be showing alot of live shows from Germany, Kugan had a show now its mainly just ticket presale, i wont be signing up again. I have bought a few tickets through it but none of the shows sold out so pretty pointless for most events, i did have a result with Quigg Frampton on there though

You'd think that with this fragmented media landscape and smart TVs etc, Fight Pass and Bax Notion could find their natural home as apps on Kindle Fire, Apple TV, YouView, TiVo, etc.

Thanks for that - the only reason why I contemplated was for the German cards - oh well, decision made now!

allegedly do have an app. The problem is that if you are TV subscriber you have to pay another subscription fee to use it.

are you an eddie hearn fan, or a boxing fan?

when eddie puts on a ppv, do you take a photo of your purchase and tweet it to him hoping he RT it for you?
