As always I appreciate your efforts and think you do a pretty good job with these lists. My objections this time are:

- I'd have Golovkin below Kovalev due to the latter's better resume
- Fury shouldn't be top 10 after beating that version of Wlad
- Wlad should probably be lower after his recent showing
- Rigondeaux could be higher, although I can see why you'd have him there

I had Kovalev ahead in October, but I moved Golovkin ahead after beating Lemieux.

Kovalev does still have a better record with his Hopkins win, so maybe you are right.
jezzamundo wrote:- Fury shouldn't be top 10 after beating that version of Wlad
That version of Wlad was the undisputed champion, undefeated in over 11.5 years.

Wlad had been getting some of his best wins within the last few years. So, it's not fair to dismiss Fury's win as over some washed up version of Wlad, when Wlad can still probably beat everyone else in the division and quite possibly Fury in the rematch as well.
jezzamundo wrote:- Wlad should probably be lower after his recent showing
I think a lot of people are underestimating Wladimir after Fury beat him so easily. He still has wins over two top 5 fighters (Povetkin and Pulev) in the last 2 and a bit years as well as beating top 10 Jennings.

There aren't many fighters in the rankings regularly beating top 5 opposition.
jezzamundo wrote:- Rigondeaux could be higher, although I can see why you'd have him there
Rigondeaux hasn't beaten a top 10 fighter in over 2 years. He has one of the weakest recent records on the list.

He is going to be heading down the list until he beats someone half decent again.

Fair enough - we'll still disagree about the heavyweights - I just don't give Wlad that much credit for ruling a weak division. Beating the #5 heavyweight is arguably an easier, lesser accomplishment than beating the #30 welterweight these days.

I assume you're keeping Mayweather in the rankings until he has been inactive for a year? If so, I agree he is still #1.

Good list but agree with most other posters here, Floyd needs to go.
He would be p4p no1 if still active but has said he's retired. He may be full of shit but you have to take him at his word.
Also, Hopkins has now past the year mark without a fight and none on the horizon. Possibly harsh as he'll likely fall off the bottom of the list next month anyway but he needs to go

Personally I think Pacquaio is a bit too high & Crawford is slightly too low.

And it certainly seems weird to have Fury above Ward & Rigondeaux in a P4P list, although I do understand your reasoning.

P4P conversation is like the fantasy sports teams conversations. . It's not real and will never be proven.. . .It is comparable to saying that Mickey Mouse could beat Donald Duck. The fact is that the heavyweight champions are #1 because none of the other's could compete against them in the same ring.. .why even talk about an ant being pound for pound the strongest in the animal kingdom?

Good list as usual (I never got why some people hate on your lists).

I would have Rigo even lower, although you have one of the better placements of him; I still see many rankings with him in or close to the top 5. It won't be long before the Donaire win was two years ago, his resume isn't particularly strong outside that, he's fought weak opposition lately, and he was recently put down twice by someone who I don't think P4P elite guys should be going down against.

I like horses lists, like any, they will always differ from mine and everyone elses.
But on the whole, they're pretty good and he makes a a good case for why he moves people around.

But I just like disagreeing because he's a stubborn SOB and very hard to budge once he's made his mind up. It keeps us amused

I assume you thought Alvarez vs Cotto was close?

For me Rigondeaux hasn't done enough to justify such a high ranking.

Boxerbeetle wrote:Personally I think Pacquaio is a bit too high & Crawford is slightly too low.
Pacquiao is possibly there for the taking at this point, but his record is still very solid. I've got to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Crawford has had a disappointing year. Thomas Dulorme & Dierry Jean are not really wins that should be propelling him up the P4P top 10.

Crawford's very talented, but his record isn't strong enough to go much higher. He'll start actually falling soon if he doesn't have a better 2016.
Boxerbeetle wrote:And it certainly seems weird to have Fury above Ward & Rigondeaux in a P4P list, although I do understand your reasoning.
Ward's win over Froch was 4 years ago tomorrow. His wins since then are against Chad Dawson, Edwin Rodriguez & Paul Smith. Ward arguably shouldn't even be ranked any more.
