Granados destroyed Imam in the 8th round, unstopping punishment,Its a good thing the ref stop the fight, cuz Imam couldn't take care no more.Talking about a guy,who was drop in the first round, finishing with a serious brutal attack.Amir Imam is still a good fighter but he didn't do enough to win,he even regret that he even took the fight, talking about it was a tune up fight because he didn't want to wait 6 or 8 months for a Postol fight. LOL Granados beating was some tune up fight.

Granados was severely underrated by the Imam team.

This was a great fight and one of my favourites this year.
A rematch will happen early next year and I expect Imam to win but it will definetly be competitive.

He showed tremendous heart and resilience to get up from that early knockdown.

Yvan Mendy beating Luke Campbell at weekend was a big one. People have been talking up Campbell as the best lightweight in the world and he was massive favourite with bookmakers.

Credit to Granados though may be able to pick other upsets but need a good think.

Bradley Saunders was a -8000 favorite a couple months ago.

Oh those unreliable, overhyped Brits.

I agree. This was a shocker to me. Poor Don King.

Hopefully, Imam handles that shocking loss the way Badou Jack did his in 2014.

I like when elite fighters get their first loss out of the way early. The focus on remaining undefeated is no longer a factor so they aren't padding the resume, staying away from tough fights. Just the opposite. They try to erase that loss by quickly fighting dangerous fights.

Canelo is probably the best example. Floyd is probably the worst example. Imagine if Floyd lost early on and didn't have to fight like a mary all these years avoiding battles in the ring? Floyd could have knocked out almost anyone if he chose to mix it up more.

was there a line on this fight in the US. I had a quick look with UK books at the time but couldnt see anything.
The Saunders call is harsh as he didnt lose as such. Sorry thats a lie. But was more to do with circumstances.
Campbell has to be up there as he was hyped but deserved to lose. He shouldntve been 40/1 on though.

Was an interesting one in Thailand earlier this year where Pongsaklek upset a then 22-0 guy, also Pigmy Kokietgym losing to some unheralded Thai. The Pigmy bout was supposed to be a warm up for the then WBO #1 ranked fighter...

In order for Amir Imam to win the rematch,he needs to learn to fight under pressure, ever fighter ain't gone let you control the fight with the jab.Imam also needs to work on his defensive skills because he was taking too many shots from Granados.Thats the only way i see Imam winning a rematch,is by being defensive an letting his hands go when needed & also by not letting Adrian Granados backing him against the ropes, trying to smoother him.Thats the only way i see Imam with the victory, also using a little footwork,Adrian Granados is going to bring just like he did the last fight!
