So how you look this fight no 1? And from the future prospect of Wilder how you look the hopes of Wilder fans who want to see a match between Wilder and Fury?

Im looking forward to see this fight
What I dont understand is why his opponent was announced
3 weeks before the fight
I dont know the Polish fighter at all but he has only few weeks to train for this fight
I think Deontay is going to knock this guy out 4th or 5th round if not earlier
maybe first round

I don't expect a KO tbh, the only KO he lost was against Jennings, who's a better boxer as Deontay Wilder and even that KO was more like a I'm too tired to keep standing KO, instead of a real KO

You have every right to your opinion of course, but I'm shocked you see this as a potential distance fight.
I mean, even if you discount the Jennings KO with the exhaustion excuse, Szpilka was up & down like a yoyo & life & death in two bouts with Mike Mollo. Who, while a strong, walk in banger, is nowhere near the puncher than Wilder is.
I think this one is a surprise if the bell rings to begin the sixth round. But, we shall see.

I mean, even if you discount the Jennings KO with the exhaustion excuse, Szpilka was up & down like a yoyo & life & death in two bouts with Mike Mollo. Who, while a strong, walk in banger, is nowhere near the puncher than Wilder is.

This match can go maximum to 6 rounds depends on Artur performance if he gives Wilder a tough time.....

Wilder KO for me.

Stylistically it's another fighter who suits Wilders style. They seem hell bent on avoiding movers and power punchers.

I think it is safe to assume Szpilka won't last the distance.

Artur will try to win the fight rather than safely collect his paycheck... and that means - combined with his chin (not that bad, but not good either) and defence (also average at best) - he will be knocked out soon.

I'm not sure where you get the 3 weeks to prepare. Last I read it was offered in the first week of December. Still not a lot of time to prepare, but more than 3 weeks. Its about 3.5 weeks out right now.

You guys seem to think that the American boxers are similar to European boxers, Europeans don't go down that easy guys, yea Duhaupas maybe, but the better ones simply don't.
The reason Jennings had him down was because he wasn't prepared good, he has pasportproblems, had to fly 3 times between Europe and America, hasn't slept in ages, stuff like that. Yes, that's his own fould, but that's a big part of the reason back in the days.
I still give Deontay the odds because they are basically the same fighter, except for the thing that Szpilka is 3% less big and got 5% more fat.

to me it looks like wilders punchingspeed and power is superior to that of jennings. havent seen the opponent fight, so dont know if he can handle wilders speed and power. but hihgly doubt it. its not always down to technical boxing skills. just look at froch. ( yeah i know he also had an amazing chin to back up his power, ring intelligence and balls.)

It was 38 days precisely. Still not much or fair on a guy who is known to be fat and lazy.

As for outcome, both guys untested, both guys can crack, both guys with suspect chins. Its a toss up.

I would be too, if I had to fight nothing but fringe hanger on's instead of legitimate contenders.

Was Glazkov a fringe hanger on also? He is ranked #6 on boxrec, #7 by ring, #9 by Fightnews, etc. I don't think we can fault Wilder for not fighting Glazkov, can we?

Glazkov is very average. his record is nothing special and his rankings are totally silly.

not that he's any better or worse than any of the others.

as for Wilder...the Szpilka fight was a very predictable option. we know Wilder is on borrowed time. They have gone for a fighter from the same stable who is a very small 6ft2 and not a puncher. Arthur hasnt had a 'win' to put him in any kind of legitimate contention even for this bauble.

Wilder should stop him inside 5

BoxRec, no offense, has never had a great ratings system. As for Fightnews and other syndicates, I take it with a grain of salt. The fact remains, true knowledgeable fans know whose legit and whose not in this business. Then again, this is a site that is plagued with Joshua fanatics with tinted glasses on, so the reference towards Fury that you have made is quite despicable considering he's rematching the NUMBER ONE heavyweight in the world, rather than face some set up.

"Champiomship" fight as an undercard - shame, shame, shame....

Please look at the Jennings fight, then you'll see it wasn't a real KO, Szpilka was simply too tired to keep standing on his feets. It happened to Wladimir several times as well.
