Lennox Lewis (1997) vs Prime Wladimir , who wins?

LOL. Lewis couldn't hurt Vitali with his best punches. He would never knock him out or down. But he would stop him on cuts in his prime too.davie wrote:YesElJefe wrote:King Lennox by KO.
Same goes for Fury
and same goes for Vitali had he fought 1997 Lewis
I tend to agree. Emanuel Steward said Wlad hit harder than Lennox (Phil Jackson said the same thing) and has better jab and footwork, but Lennox was more versatile fighter and can adapt better in the fight. I think it would make difference. Plus Lennox could fight inside while Wlad couldn't. I think Wlad's best chance to win this fight would be if Lewis fought like he did against Grant - very agressively. In this case Wlad would be able to catch him with a big punch and knock him out. Only complete idiot can compare Wlad to Michael Grant - the difference in skills, balance, footwork and even power between them is HUGE. Just compare their results against the same fighter - Jameel McCline.crusader wrote:Lennox by stoppage.
He's all wrong for Wlad.
Yes he would, but skin is the part of body just like chin. People say "if only Wlad had Vitali's chin". Well, that's only "if". He didn't and that's only that matters. The same with Vitali's skin. If it couldn't be cut so easily the result could be and probably would be different, but it's only "if".asdfjkl wrote:If you putted the same poll up before Tyson Fury you would probably had differend results, or at least less confident ones, but I think I agree with most.
I do somehow think his older brother would have won if his face wasn't cut.
Wlad with Vitali's brain would be starched practically every fight. Whichever brain he had Wlad had Wlad's chin, it's Wlad's brain that got him to where his, he fought with a style that eleviated danger, that's a great style for a fighter with s suspect chin, not sure why putting the brain of fighter with an iron chin would be a good idea.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Lewis KO
But who wins ; prime Lewis v prime Wlad with Vitali's brain transplanted into his head ?
You had to be on drugs of some sort when you asked that question.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Lewis KO

Wlad would shit himself if lewis attacked him like in the grant fight.Boxing Writer wrote:I tend to agree. But if Lewis fought like he did in the Rahman rematch and first Holyfield fight, Wlad's chances wouldn't be good at all. Mid-rounds stoppage would be the most possible result of prime Lewis vs prime Wlad.
Saying that, I think Wlad would be more competetive than Lewis against some styles. I have no doubts that prime Larry Holmes would completely outclass prime Lewis, beat him up and knock him out in the late rounds, while Wlad would be much more competetive against Holmes (but would still lose).

This is a man who got knocked out by Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall. He was also behind on all three cards against Vitali and only won on cuts. Cuts is about the most unsatisfactory way for any fight to end.
He was very good don't get wrong but he weren't out of this world.

Mitigating factors v Vitali though ?
Motivation issues, long time out of the ring etc
