Because some of them, treat us like idiots that can't tell our arse from our elbows. They fill cards with mismatches and charge top dollar to see it. Some of them (Hearn) are in cahoots with Sky to serve up the cheapest fare they can for the most amount of money. Most of them are ridiculously over protective of their fighters in order to maximise their own revenues, instead of risking them in 50/50 meaningfull match ups they are totally risk averse and wont put fighters in against anyone that has got a hope in hell of beating them.

Warren used to be bad for it but times have changed and circumstances mean he has been forced into providing good cards and great coverage on his channel. The stuff we get to watch on Sky is a disgrace.

Too many promoters don't give a toss about boxing as a sport, all they care about is the short term and how much profit they can generate as the sport becomes further and further marginalized from the mainstream.

Yeah, I read your simplistic rant on here on Saturday, and couldn't be arsed to tell you why it was so simplistic and silly, but I think I will now.

I will try and make a comparison with 'Quality Street' and how the size of their Christmas tins have been getting smaller and smaller, profiteering out of providing an inferior product.

They are providing - usually - a substandard product, take for example, this Saturdays fight - Liam Smith vs Jimmy Kelly, it is a good fight and Kelly is a 'live' bet. It is going to be a lot closer than people think it is and I am putting my neck on the block for a Kelly win.

But it isn't a 'world' title fight, now this isn't solely the fault of the British promoters, they are taking advantage of the mess professional boxing is in, but when we compare how boxing used to be to how it is now, then you can contrast and compare with the decrease in size of Christmas tins of chocolate.

Because, by and large, they're a shower of utter pudenda

I'll say it again. The answer to everyone's concerns is for Board to ban people holding promoters and managers licences at the same time.
Promoters then simply promote shows, and managers try to get the best deals and fights for their boxers. If the manager and boxer can' t sell tickets then they might struggle to get the fights, but it would force promoters to PROMOTE.

Boxer gets phonecall from his manager on Wed,got a fight for you this sat if you're up for it, boxer agrees there and then,manager says by the way it's on undercard of fury very klitchko,much excitement and looking forward to a good 50/50 fight against a good opponent,manager says just got to iron out a few details will call you back within 2 hours,gets the call back sky have withdrawn their offer no reasons given,sky boxer ends up fighting a guy who has absolutely no chance of winning, in my opinion that's what's wrong with boxing and the likes of hearn etc

The tv monopoly that exists on both major boxing channels means most British televised shows are one sided affairs with low risk involved. They have no risk of failure.

The smallhall promoters do a fantastic job with little exposure.

If I was head of sky boxing I'd give Steve Goodwin a York Hall show every 3 months.
It would showcase smallhall talent.
Steve is very very good at making competitive fights, and the fighters being on mainstream tv would go hell for leather.

If successful I'd slowly start giving more dates to other promoters. Tv channels need to spread the wealth and give other promoters the chance to compete.

Seeing Flanagan be world champion with Steve Wood ringside was one of the highlights of the year.
Tv needs.
More promoters and more competitive fights.

Giving Goodwin or Wood the odd Friday night show straight after Rugby finishes would be good IMO like a few years ago. Just a competitive British title fight really been a poor year for competitive fights on normal sky.

Yeah I agree with the above, I would be very happy to also see a few more small hall shows on a Friday night. It wouldn't have to be bigged up too much, indeed some of the C5 shows have a low key feel about them, which isn't a problem.

Variety is good.

I agree with the above about 1 sided matches, but most of the small hall shows are more one sided than any of the misMatchroom sky bills & I have been to plenty. The same old journey men appearing on the left hand side of the bill with the fight ending 60-54 or 40-36.
Many a time I think I will go to a show but one look at the bill makes me keep my hard earned in my pocket.
While I am at it other thing with Match room bill is the gap between fights sometime. I appreciate sky need adverts but get a 4 rounder in there.

Erm - If you put small hall shows on TV they are no longer ..........small hall shows.
All Promoters piss in the same pot.
