It is not a bad match up.I think it is a good going away fight for Cotto.

By the way, Lara's power is no better than Monroe's or Murray's, so he fits as a guy "with skill and little power".

Yeah, Lara does actually fit the more skill than power mold. But he is still someone lil g has refused to fight, and for good reason. Erislandy has a way of making folks look bad and lil g won't risk that.

Lara is zero risk for Golovkin. He had to headbutt Vanes and poke Angulo in the eye in order not to lose. He ran the whole fight from Canelo. He is nowhere near Golovkin's level.

What he can make look bad is fights, so HBO wouldn't invest into Golovkin vs Lara.

I'm not sure what GGG would do in the US for another unification bout.
But I'm fairly certain a British fighter, in a unification with a top p4p exciting fighter does over 100k buys in the UK.
If Bellew vs Cleverly and a British title heavyweight bout can both break that Mark I'm sure GGG could.

Not to worry though, there's as much chance of BJS taking the GGG fight as there is Cotto or Canelo taking the BJS fight

Who can blame him, he probably thinks he can win a fight with Cotto, though surely only at 160. I actually think Cotto would win pretty handily whether they fought at 160 or 155, BJs isn't remotely on the same level skill wise.

I think Cotto could possibly go for it as it's a title shot he can win, though he'd be taking a very small payday comparatively if he came to the UK. Would they try and do this in NY? Cotto has a big following there.

I'm not a psychologist but I've banged a few of them. And I think that you are currently suffering from a severe case of Floyd-Void. Don't be alarmed, the name seems scarier than the prognosis. It is curable in 50% of the cases. The most effective forms of treatments begin with discarding all of the posters and memorabilia scattered about your bedroom (tattoo removal when applicable). You really need to rid yourself of the constant reminders in order to heal. The next step is to try not to focus on the cowardly way Floyd finished his career. Well, then it's possible, however, Cotto will want by far the lion share of the purse, but even that being the case, BJs could take home a huge hunk of money if he gets the thin end of the wedge.

Who knows, he might even win it, I'd make Cotto a small favourite at this stage, a bigger favourite at a catchweight. Saunders I don't think hits hard enough to trouble Cotto if he was able to take Canelo's digs for the duration.

and saunders wouldn't have won the lee decision without the 2 kd's in one round, assuming
he would have fought the same way without them. i don't see anything that leads me to believe
saunders can outbox cotto. i don't think GGG would have stepped aside as canelo's mandatory
just so canelo could take the lee-saunders winner. it wouldn't make any sense and guaranteed
that was part of the deal, and it doesn't look like saunders wants any part of GGG unless he is
overpaid, and even then bjs doesn't seem sure. cotto really looks like saunder's only real shot
as cashing in on that title. there is a significant drop off in pay from cotto, and i'm not even sure
saunders can win a rematch with eubank for a lot less $$, and if saunders loses the title he may
never get a sniff at one again at middle without going straight to GGG. seems like if saunders
got into good shape (especially the diet part) and learned how to drain a little, he could poach a
title at 154 and set up a big unification down there. i would pick saunders over liam smith for
the same title one division down.
