I look at all these guys records & they all had decent wins & fought some the best as well & all have pretty good boxing skills as well.

Easily Chris Byrd with his wins over a prime Vitali Klitschko, David Tua and a 40 year old Evander Holyfield.
Lamon Brewster next with his demolition jobs of Wladimir Klitschko and an aged Andrew Golota.
I don't see a single historically notable win among Haye, Peter, Chambers and Brock.

Haye beating Valuev is a historically notable win. History will remember that fight.

Do you mean in the division jumping sense? As a fight it's unwatchable. Other than that, I can only see it as a curiosity. It's a win over an abnormally large man, but not a boxer of any talent.
I think Brewster and Peter in their day would have stood up to Valuev and put him on his back.

Chris Byrd easily. He has wins over prime Vitali and Tua (who was in much better shape than he was in Lewis fight) and well past prime Holyfield. Add here former CW champion Arthur Williams, McCline, Oquendo, Williamson, Thunder, Cooper (though well past his prime), Puritty and some others guys. Byrd had very good resume.

Good thread
Byrd is clearly way ahead than brewster.
Lamon brewsters career could have been a lot better.thats how good i thought he was

Chris Byrd. He will definitely be remembered as a Great of his time. If not an All Time Great.

Although David Haye hasn't finished yet and if the belts are divided (as they look like they are going to be) then I give him a very reasonable chance at regaining a version of the World Heavyweight title.

At heavyweight it's easily Byrd mostly due to his Vitali win.
Overall I'd plump for Haye due to his achievements at Cruiser. His win over Mormeck in Paris is a truly underrated win.
Foreign soil, unification fight against arguably the best in the division at the time.

Have to go with Byrd. At least he has wins over V.Klitschko (as bad as that fight was) and Tua.
Brewster would be next. He has the win over W. Klitschko. He also beat Golota, but Golota was so inconsistent it is hard to say how much that means.
Nobody else really has much.

Byrd despite his "win" over Golata.
You could even through Ruiz's name here, and it would not change things.

The good question would be who is number two... Chris Byrd would be obvious number one pick.
An upset against Vitali, and wins with prime Tua and still somewhat alive Holy (Toney fought him later, and IMO still got more credit) are probably the most important in his career. If you add some other good wins over top/decent opponents (Thunder, Mo Harris, McCline, Williamson.. though this one was unwatchable even for Byrd fan like myself) he is easily number one.
I do not take into account his losses when he was obviously past prime, but for the same reason I do not count as his achievements the gift win over Oquendo and the draw with Golota.

Byrd, no question.
